We love this facility but we cannot rejoin since COVID because they never lengthen their hours. Can't enjoy a Friday night at the pool with the family because they close at 7. They used to be open until 10. We worked out from 8: 30 to 10. We would like to join again, but will not until they get more convenient hours.

Great facility both indoors and out. Swim lessons for the kids are so affordable as are all the programs. So many thibgs to choose from. Sports, dance, swim, you name it. Love the outdoor pool in the summer and will continue to keep my membership for years to come.

Edit 7/1: Be very wary of their membership contract. $63 for an adult and they want 15 days notice before they'll cancel. So SOMEHOW they expect us to magically predict when our lives are going to get busier two weeks in advance. And the excuse they give me? 'Well OTHER facilities are even worse! ' Seriously? You're defending yourself with more excuses? Just because OTHER gyms want even longer notice doesn't make what you do acceptable.

Now I'm out another $63 for the month because I didn't have the foresight to predict a change in my life schedule. Far as I'm concerned, this is downright theft. No wonder so many of us are going to Planet Fitness instead. I can't tell you how many other people I recognize at that gym. I'd rather drive the extra miles for some basic respect and cleaner facilities.

Oh my gosh I can't say enough good things about the Sampson Family YMCA in terms of the leadership and the facilities are just beautiful. Just went to the outdoor pool and it is spotless. Everyone who works there and attends as members are really really nice people. It's a great place for your family and individuals.

Warning do not use the Sampson YMCA!

I just wanted to share an experience with Plum YMCA. I want everyone to realize that they really do not care about the kids and they will not hold their staff accountable.

I recently learned in February that YMCA offered flag football.

My boys were beyond excited for this. They have had a very hard year, I am going to leave out details. However this was the first thing they were looking forward to since.

This occurred March of 2022. The boys attended the flag football camps on Wednesday (16th) and Saturday (19th). Thursday the 17th I had called in and explained I wanted to join the YMCA and register the boys flag football. I had all intentions of paying and signing up for EVERYTHING that day which again was on the 17th. I was told by a staff member that I should come in on Monday and just do everything that day and I would eliminate the joining fee. I trusted her. I went into the YMCA that Monday to join (21st). She told me to do my registration online for flag football. I went online to register for the flag football session immediately after leaving. There was no flag football to sign up for. I called immediately (again still on the 21st) and was informed that registration had closed on the 19th. I talked to a manger (will leave off name), who said initially there was nothing he could do. He did not apologize for the misdirection from his staff. He said he would call the gentleman in charge of the program to see what they could do. I called two days after this and promised a call the next day. I received a call today (the 29th, a week and some days later) His name is Fran. Fran explained it was nothing he could do and my boys would be placed on a waitlist. He said "out of fairness" Let's actually talk about what is fair and not fair in this situation. Anyway, I proceeded to call the director Ms. Kelly McIntrye (YMCa director) who said essentially said that she was very sorry for the situation but there was nothing she could do. Her staff was trying to be helpful and just did not realize registration closed. Nothing was going to be done.

Had I not had taken the steps before the 19th, I could understand the YMCAs stance. However it's very evident they do not care. They will not take accountability for their actions. Do not trust them. All my boys wanted to do was play, I was willing to register, they misdirected and did not rectify their mistake.

I have since canceled my membership and gone with PISA. Very easy registration and that is simple.

Please learn from what I did and beware.

I use the therapy pool and it is wonderful. Everyone is very nice here. They have lots of good exercise equipment and a lot of programs.

This place is disgusting. My son was assaulted by staff and sent home with clear bruises from grabbing restraints. When i questioned them they said he came to camp like that and then tried to file a CYF report saying i abused him. Thank goodness we took selfies before camp where his arms are clearly visible or this camps lack of accountability could have cost me my job and family.

Great facility and very clean! However upon joining for both myself and my son I was charged $77 for a few months and then all the sudden double charged. If the staff was more willing to help I would be keeping my membership but they insisted I was charged once and the man I filed the dispute with at the bank even saw a second charge. I will be going in person to cancel my membership

The facility is nice and well kept, however the cost for an individual adult is outrageous. The YMCA association, or whomever controls how much the cost, as it’s different at each facility, needs to reevaluate their cost structure. A fee structure that allowed for the options you want to use would be nice. I don’t use pools or group classes, nor do I utilize any childcare services. They need to offer a basic membership that includes the machines and weights only with a reduced cost.
Their hours are also far too limited for what they charge. Closing at 6 on Friday’s? Gee, thanks from all of us that work 9-5. And closing at 2 on Saturdays and now not open at all Sunday? For the monthly fee they charge they need to be way more flexible with their hours.
The floor with all the machines and free weights is too crowded, snd there is nowhere to do floor work.
Like I said, nice facility, but not $750/year nice for an individual membership.

My son Had swimming classes there. When we signed up it was 5 children per group. During actual classes it was 6 kids per 1 instructor, 18 minutes Instead of 30 and no lifeguards. Very unsafe.

Nice facility, but the Wi-Fi frequently does not work. Starting to question value received for what I pay as my membership fee will go up again in January to $86.

I have gone here for many things! First of all I used to participate in the swim lessons. The instructors were always very kind of course. I learned how to do various swimming styles and perfected them throughout the many practices I attended. Swimming and learning with my peers was a fun filled experience and I certainly recommend taking a dip in the pool, even if you don’t want to do swimming lessons. This place is popping in the summer, a perfect place to bring friends, family, and loved ones. There is a plethora of chairs and picnic tables to choose from. There are shallow, medium, and deep sections in the pool. The life guards do their job well and are very kind. Secondly, the summer camp. I used to go to summer camp here for many years. Since I was a little toddler, to a pre teen. The counselors did their job and were very nice to the kids, very reasonable and able to give us a good time, I heavily recommend!
