Sarah Heinz House reviews
6 I go to Heinz as a part time member and I love it! I pretty much only do robotics there but I made a lot of friends and we are always having a great time. Their Covid procedures are pretty sound which is the reason I still go even when I might cut out other activities for safety. Would 100% recommend!

My children have been resident camper for a few years now. As of yesterday, my son, along with several other campers were sent home for "violating the code of conduct".
However, no one at Sarah Heinz House can seem to give any details to what the incident was or what transpired.
Whether my child was a victim or a perpetrator of an incident is still not clear, however, it was brought to my attention that their (the campers) were documented to have spoken to several staff and that their statements were documented and transcribed.
They were aware that they were going home from the moment that they woke up yesterday morning, yet the parents were not informed of any sort of wrongdoing until after 4pm, yesterday, and the Director of Heinz House was unavailable, and has yet to return any parents phone calls.
At this time, there seems to be a widespread cover up of any incidents, and my camper has no idea why he was sent home, or even, if he will be able to return.
Due to the nature of whatever has transpired, you'd think that the parents would be informed of any sort of incident at the camp, so as to make any further judgement calls.
At this point, the staff and Board of Directors have made no attempt to inform the parents of what sort of action has or will be taking place. All they have done is send numerous parents to the voicemail of the Director, which has resulted in absolutely no response.
As Heinz House parents, we have a right to know what is happening up in Slippery Rock, and what we can do to follow through appropriately.
I am asking that I receive a response as soon as possible, and that moving forward, all parents are made aware of any incidents moving forward, so that we can determine if our children are safe while under their care or even if they are being supervised.
Very organized, clean. Great for all ages to excercise, swim, credit to all STAFF!
The older ladies up front are very rude to me over the phone. And I dont understand how dinner is from 4: 30 to 5: 30 but so is homework help. So they have to pick and choose from eating and getting help with homework. That's not cool. At all.
Sarah Heinz House is a fantastic place for city n suburban kids to go and develop lifelong friendships, interpersonal skills, and community engagement. Both of my boys attended here with one in 6th grade still attending. Overnight summer camp is something I know he will look back and remember as being some of the best memories of childhood. He's looking forward to trying out as a counselor in the future. Love this place, it's staff and the amazing facilities and programs.
