Sayre Historical Society reviews
3When I had the chance to visit, it was not open. However, thanks to the informative outdoor signs with pictures, I was able to enjoy a look into Sayre's past. Of course the Lehigh Valley railroad was the major player in the history of town and was well represented by the signs posted around the depot. This is sacred ground for any Lehigh Valley fan! It was very enjoyable to see the caboose, which was built in the shops here. And it's great to see the depot preserved. My hat is off to the society's efforts!
Attended a presentation called Mail Order Brides by Catherine Wiggs. She also presented her hand-made quilts. Very entertaining and her quilts are beautiful!
Very friendly volunteers, very nice and clean inside. Some great local history and very good local Lehigh Valley Railroad pieces.
