S.B. Elliott State Park reviews
15I stopped by this park on a rainy autumn weekday to do amateur radio. It was deserted as one might suspect. The parking was abundant and it would be a fantastic place to have a summer picnic. Many shade trees are all around and even roofed structures. It's a great place for a relaxing day away from the hustle and bustle of life.
The cabin we stayed in was nice and clean. It was nice to have our own bathroom. Would definitely recommend this to people staying in the area.
FYI not a great place for tent campers. Road noise is constant throughout the night and pricing not clear online in comparison to what’s posted on site. It’s $29.50 for non residents.
It's very clean and beautiful place. You can listen birds chirping and put your blanket on the grasses and get little nap.
What a great Park, love coming here. I parked hers and rode my gravel bike to Parker Dam State Park and back for a beautiful 27 mile bike ride. The roads were in great condition and the views were amazing.looking forward to coming back and exploring some more. Would recommend this park to others enjoying the outdoors.
Stop here yearly for picnic lunch on drive across i80. Cute older buildings. Some trails. Very small campground with no privacy.
What an amazing experience! This was my first visit to this park, we loved it so much we extended our stay.
Planned a 40 mile gravel bike ride with a group of friends. Tons of parking, and clean facilities. Super easy access to the park and the roads nearby and the roads are VERY well marked
A nice, small and quaint state park. Peaceful, even though you can here I-80 faintly in the distance. There are nice trails, a small pond, open grassy areas and good, clean amenities. The elevation is high for Pennsylvania, so there are excellent options for naturalists. Birds and butterflies with excellent northern flora. There are hundreds of miles of dirt roads surrounding the park in the encompassing Moshannon State Forest. Be mindful of the many dump trucks that use those roads for the mining operations in the mountains. Great opportunities for total seclusion within the state forest. There are really cool and interesting stops within the state forest not far from the park. So grab your camera and get out there!
This place is absolutely amazing! And at a price that anyone can afford, the cabin was beautiful inside and out it was like stepping back in time but with the modern essentials if needed. Had the greatest time and there are so many backroads to explore and with the snow it was quite the experience. We will be going back as soon as possible here.
Cabins are small and cute for a weekend getaway. Would be cozy for a week as well! No park office in the actual park, so you have to drive to Parker Dam State Park to get/return keys. Cabin was clean and tidy. You need to bring all linens, cookware and water. The cabin we stayed in had a loft bed above the door, 4 sets of bunk beds, gas stove, full refrigerator, fire place and gas heat.
Small park, basic camping and cabins and beyond the main camping area is primitive camping along a gravel road. No electricity at the campsites. Quiet, pleasant area.
Beautiful wooded area, stayed at cabin in woods. It was so rustic and charming! Had fireplace with nice fire going after a rainy day. Each cabin has its own luxurious (for camping) new bathrooms with hot showers! Fully handicap accessible. Will definitely return!
Beautiful quite place to stay a little pricy at 28 and change for a tent. Though the ground is soft and fluffy and you will get a good nights sleep.
We love going to this park. We always see wildlife at this park. It is a nice place to ride bike. It has nice well marked hiking trails. Elk viewing viewing is only a 1/2 hour away. Most of the campsites are primitive, only one electric site for the campground host.
