Like the other covered bridges in Lehigh County, this bridge is exceptionally well maintained. Even with looking at the map ahead of time, we didn't realize that the best place to park was on the southwest corner of the bridge where there was room for several cars, but I am not sure I'd try that with anything other than a SUV or something with a high ground clearance. The landscape was such that we were able to get some pretty nice photos of the western part of the bridge. There was a place that you could walk under the bridge, but because of the rains from Tropical Storm Ida, it was a little unsafe to do so. From under the bridge you can see the walking bridge for the Elk Ridge Trail. Since the employee entrance to the Lehigh Valley Zoo is on the southeastern side of the bridge, there is a LOT of traffic going through, so there wasn't much of a chance to get a photo of the entrance to the bridge. As an aside, the Trexler Nature Preserve is something that needs to be explored in greater detail if you like the outdoors. Between the trails, the overlooks, and the Leigh Valley Zoo, you could probably spend a couple of days there.

Beautiful are and great view of the bridge, even with snow on the ground.

My family come here often to first and let it kids play in the water. There are trails around to walk and few picnic tables. It gets crowded at times but everyone is usually respectful of each other's space. The scenery is always the best part.

Walking through history built in the 1800's. Refurbished about three years ago to look like new.
