I had an awesome experience buying a kayak from Shank’s Mare today. The owner was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, and he took the time to understand my needs and recommend the right kayak for me. All.without making me feel stupid for my novice questions like I’ve experienced in the past.

All of the staff was incredibly patient and caring, and they went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with my new yak without trying to upsell me.

I had a terrible experience buying a kayak from Bass Pro Shop, so I was hoping this time around I’d have a better experience here.

I'm so glad I decided to give Shank’s a shot. I’m embarrassed I didn’t try them first, but I’m happy I found them. They were a breath of fresh air, and I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to buy a kayak for fishing or general recreation.

I put several holes in my SUP and was devastated and Devin calmed my fears and fixed my board quickly. Love supporting small business and can't wait to come back. My wife and I have been in kayaks on lakes and ponds but were nervous about doing river kayaking. The team there was excellent in helping us decide what Kayak would be best and got us all set up. They were professional and courteous and didn't make us "newbies" feel bad about questions. Will definitely be coming back for more kayaking fun!

My bf purchased his kayak a few weeks ago, brought it home and couldn't be happier with it! I was late to the game and purchased mine a week or so later and was just as pleased. Not only is the staff incredibly knowledgeable but they're super friendly as well. Even had help getting the kayak strapped to the roof. One million percent would recommend to anyone just starting out or looking for a decent location to pickup accessories/kayaks/etc. This is the place to go!

Broke the paddle for my paddleboard. Same day service, great new paddle. Good price on it, much better than my starter equipment. I would recommend this place.

Stopped in here by chance. Walked out with a Crescent SUP! I've been to many many kayak dealers.this place by far is the best one! It's a quaint little place, and their staff are the most personable and knowledgeable at what they do. And they definitely did not try to sell me anything, just listened to what I needed and gave great insight. We will be back!

Great shop! Lots of kayaking equipment and other outdoor things. They have a line of recycled clothing that is amazing! And the store mascots are great fun! Do stop in!
