Shankweiler's Drive-In Theatre reviews
16We love shankweilers! Yummy food at the snack bar and great movies. So glad it’s still around 80+ years strong!
Great way to see a movie! The team is very friendly and the concessions are delicious. Treat yourself to a night out here.
In season my heart unfortunately belongs to another place, but my experience at Shankweiler's was very positive. I love the drive in so when I found out they were still open when everyone else is closed I had to try them out. The gentleman who scanned my ticket was friendly and remembered me on my second visit. The people in the concession stand were polite and the prices are very fair and every time I saw the co-owner walking around he was smiling. You can tell he is definitely doing what he wants in life which will certainly be reflected in his business. My first visit I watched Wakanda Forever/Thor and came back last weekend for Planes, Trains and Automobiles/Paul Blart. The concession area seemed to run much more smoothly the second visit so I'm sure they will only continue to improve. I'd say my only gripe is a lack of locks on the bathroom stalls. While it has not yet, I could see that leading to an embarrassing situation I plan on going back again this upcoming weekend for The Grinch/Gremlins so I would say I believe I like the place

Such a great drive-in. Its small and the concessions stand is a window. So it's very cozy. It's now under new management to keep the theater open. Can't wait to see what the place transforms into for future events. You can rent out the drive in for a wedding!
I love drive-ins. This is the oldest still operating drive-in. Recently under new management. They now have an extended season. I went last night which was in November. The previous owners used to close in September. Thanks for staying open!
We always have a great time at Shankweiler's. Good food and great movies under the night sky.
Love drive-ins and loved the history of this place! Very enjoyable summer evening for sure. Super friendly staff.
Just saw A League of Their Own on 8/18/22, our first visit, and we loved every bit of the experience. Nice screen, cute concession stand, great hot dogs, staff friendly. Highly recommended
Our first drive in movie. We absolutely loved it and will go back again. The concession stand pricing is just awesome, nothing overpriced at all. We also got lucky that the weather cooled down, occasional gusts of cool breeze. Take your chairs, mat, outside food is welcome. No pets!
A few tips to keep in mind. The audio is through your FM radio, this means getting to know your car very well. Most new vehicles have a start button unlike the key version. Get to know how to set your car in accessory mode. The car owners next to us had no clue and their battery was dead. Luckily some of us carry emergency kits. There is a 20 minute break between the movies. Keep your car running during that break, your car and battery will thank you.
The movie selection was amazing, and the drive-in and parking was well organized! Also loved that the concession stand was reaaonably priced. Visual and audio quality were top notch. Definitely recommend this place for the experience!
Very disgusted with Shankweiler's. They would not allow my family to bring our service dog to the drive in. They asked for documentation, when I said we did not have any they said our dog couldn't come in. According to the ADA both private and public businesses are NOT allowed to ask for documentation. This is discrimination according to the ADA.
The week before I had gone to the local amc and purchased 2 movie tickets, popcorn, nachos, and a fountain drink. Unfortunately the refinance on my house was rejected so I was unable to pay for the snacks. It was then when my mortgage lender suggested I checkout Skankdweller's Drive-In. There's plenty of spots for your car, the audio feeds through the radio, and the exact same snack order cost only $12!
Really awesome community and they let us stay for a double feature.
Definitely be going back!
We had a great time the move was great and the food wasn't pricey like the movie theater. Great value for your money. We seen 2 movies. It is a must do for everyone that likes movies.
Just going to stick with the superior option, beckys. Better food options, larger, friendlier, oh and.pet friendly. The fact that we can't even take our 12lb dog with us who is quiet and good on a leash is absolutely ridiculous.
Just purchased a pretzel… was told to wait 5 mins…20 seconds later out came my pretzel… FROZEN. Chilled to the core. Yeah you all know the warm doughy middle… yeah me too but guess what…? ROCK HARD
Family oriented. Better than cities close by. This place was thoughtful enough to actually give out pamphlets with rules to ensure better environment also.
