SightMD Pennsylvania (Progressive Vision Institute), Wyomissing PA

HORRIBLE experience. We waited 25 minutes past our appointment time just to be checked in. The staff at the front desk seemed short staffed, but regardless they didn’t apologize or even acknowledge the lateness and held side bar conversations that added to the wait time. Once back in the exam room, our experience with Dr. Barbe was probably the worst we’ve ever had with a healthcare professional. She seemed so out of sorts, running into the room and asking 100 questions and then getting annoyed when we couldn’t answer them fast enough. She barked orders at the poor girl who was at the computer, nonstop. She should be ashamed to call herself a pediatric eye doctor as her “bedside manner” with my 8 year old was horrific. She yelled orders at him to “open his eyes” and follow commands, not giving any care to the pain he was in or his inability to use his injured eye. She aggressively shoved drops at his face and then got visibly annoyed when he wouldn’t comply. I had to ask her multiple times to take the time to slow down and explain to him what it is she was doing so that he understood. He was terrified at her aggressive motions and tone that he begged me never to take him back there. She rushed the entire exam which lasted about 3 minutes and hardly explained anything to us. She literally ran out of the room without so much as a goodbye or asking if we had questions. We refused to even come back for a follow up appointment and will seek recommendations for an eye doctor that isn’t so incredibly rude, belittling, and condescending to children.

My vision improved & my glaucoma is much more stabilized. The staff & doctor were professional & very helpful. The appointment went through pretty quickly; very minimal waiting times.

A complete mess of an office, staff and doctor (Barbe) Our appointment was almost an hour late and we were the first appointment. The nurses scream your name when it’s your turn. The first part of the exam is basically in a closet…. The nurse even called it a closet. Then you meet the dr…. I have never met a dr like this! She ran in, started yelling at the nurse for mistakes, asked my daughter about her summer and then just started flinging stuff in front of her eyes. She rushed through the exam, flipping back and forth between the options so fast, my daughter was dizzy. Then she yelled at her for not answering. I was in shock …. I wish I would have left. I think they were so far behind (I did not mention office is supposed to open at 8 but we waited outside till 8: 35 for them to open) the dr did the exam in 3 minutes. We were there for 3 hours and uncomfortable the entire time. It was almost like they were mad we were there.
The one positive is the woman helping with glasses was very friendly and knowledgeable. She should run and find a new office!
I’m interested to know if anyone else had a similar experience?

Nurses were professional and courteous. I'll procedures and seen the doctor were timely. Dr very professional and friendly and willing to answer questions.

Always a pleasure at SightMD in Wyomissing. Staff and doctors are kind, friendly and professional besides giving quality care.

Waited for the doctor almost 45 minutes after all the tests were done. Doctor seemed more interested in pushing cataract surgery than anything else. Will be looking for a new diabetic eye doctor.

Made an appointment same day Dr. Was great all the staff were great. I'd recommend this place to family and friends

Went in to get my eye checked and the wait times were pretty long. The doctor recommended me some eye drops, I didn’t expect it to solve the problem but it actually did within like 8 hours. Overall a great experience.

Dr and nurses we great but no one should have to wait 4months to get an eye exam for new glasses how you suppose to live with messed up vision for that long and it get worse from using an old set of glasses that part of there service need serious attention

this wasn't a matter of extended wait time this has to do with not being able to get a simple eye exam for a new prescription for glasses and being told i cant be seen for 4 months so i will not have great vision now for 4 months because your place wont give me an appointment before 4 months from now

Dr. Shann Lin has taken care of my eyes for several years and I am very satisfied with the results.

The Dr.was great. I have a special needs brother and she took her time and was very thorough at the appointment

Dr Lin always gives the best care & advice during examinations, He's 1 of the best, He's funny & jokes around during a visit but also keeps things 100 %professional also.

I love this place. Answer all my questions and I get in and never have to wait long to be called back. They are really great with my daughter!

Dr. Matz is awesome! Friendly, caring and concerned. He listens to you and never rushes you.

All though they are very busy…. They treat you respectfully and do their best to get you in and out in a timely manner

They were kind but I find that the doctor was in a hurry to finish, I didn't see her take the time (I've been to several eye specialists and they take their time to review this one, she didn't and it was clear that she wanted to move forward, perhaps because she had many patients but I think this is not a reason to move forward)
