I came to this place to get a skin consultation and knowing at the time the skin consultation I think was around or under $40 at the time so I proceeded to then go ahead with the facial. I was thinking I was getting the special she was advertising on Instagram but claimed it wasn’t the owners price it was for another woman that worked there. During the facial she did not go over any of the procedures I would be getting she just thought it was ok to do the works without informing me. When I was done out of the chair my bill came to a whopping $450. Of course I was upset because I initially was there for a special of $125 but I paid and thought to myself she likes to get over on people. To top it off she suggested these generic products like Olay that was for a woman 50 and over and Nivea lotion that clogged my pores. All in all this wasn’t a good experience and I couldn’t recommend no one to her

Horrible. Went in for a facial and came out worst than when I came in! I was left with scars on my nose for 7 months! The owner tried to tell me this is normal scaring that happens and because I didn’t moisturize thats why my face looks like this. I spent 300 for a facial for my face to be butchered!

Very nice place and the atmosphere…warm and friendly. The young man that serviced me did a GREAT job. Additionally the music was good AND the conversation too.
I enjoyed my visit…intend to go back and I highly recommend this place

Covid protections closely followed, black-owned, woman-owned, family-run, amazing local business with very high quality work. J did a very thorough job with my eyebrows, besides just being an incredibly nice person. Can't praise this place enough.

My experience with the Silkcocoon Beauty Bar was amazing! When I arrived for my appointment Janiah greeted me by my name and showed me to the restroom where she asked me to wash and dry my hands. Not to mention the soap and lotion in the restroom smells absolutely phenomenal. The establishment was very clean, organized and gorgeously decorated with beautiful purple decor (Amazing color choice btw!) The soft jazz music playing in the background added a nice touch to the ambiance, very soothing. I went in for a chin wax, my very first actually and I am very pleased with my results. Jae got me together honey! She was very kind, professional, down to earth, knowledgeable and gentle. The service took about 30min and in my opinion it was painless. Janiah was also very professional, kind and down to earth. I can’t wait to come in for my next service! If I could give 10 stars I definitely would. The customer service was top notch! Amazing job ladies! I appreciate you both.

Love love loveee this place, I’ve been going here for a few months and have seen tremendous changes in my skin. Black owned, women owned and the owner/estheticians are all friendly, loving, honest and REAL. They’re not “money hungry” and will not recommend a service if they believe your skin will not benefit from it, or in my case not ready for it. The skin care advice and facials that I’ve received from my esthetician Janiah has definitely helped improve my skin. I even stopped picking at my skin and really learned to invest in my skin, and it has improved my self esteem so much!

I’ve also received eyebrows and arm Pitts waxing services and let’s just say Ms. Jae really takes her time and make sure you’re pleased with the results. The services are definitely worth the price! I plan to add more services as time goes on. I highly recommend this beauty bar!

*LONG POST ALERT* I would just like to share my frustration. I booked an appointment for my best friend as a birthday gift. She no longer lives in Philly so she traveled all the way from South Carolina for this facial. When I was going through the process of booking the appointment I was communicating with a number ending in 1045. While texting this individual, they let me know that I had to make a deposit for the appointment. So I did, after sending the money via cash app. I texted the individual and said “Okay I sent it to 215-xxx-1044, I’ll stick with the $185”. The individual text me back and said “ The 9 AM facial will be made with Ryan”. I’m literally copying these messages from our text thread.

Here’s where the issue came in, I didn’t realize that I sent the deposit to a number ending in *1044 instead of *1045. I take FULL accountability for making an honest mistake. But I also text the individual and said verbatim “ Okay I sent it to 215-xxx-1044. ”. Referring to the deposit. The individual never said, “hey, that’s the wrong number”. They instead confirmed the appointment for 9am.

Upon my friends arrival the building was not open so she called me to make sure she had the right place. The owner then walks up and insists that her appointment was for 9: 30 when I have text messages confirming that the appointment was for 9. But that’s neither here nor there, my friend goes to wait in her car. She’s goes back in at 9: 30 and they tell her that her appointment was never made because they didn’t receive the deposit.

The part that’s frustrating to me is, when I told the individual I sent the deposit. I even sent the number I sent the deposit too and they never corrected me, or even text me later and say “hey, I never received your deposit.are you sure you sent it”. Nothing. Nor did they take any accountability for texting me 9 instead of 9: 30. So at this point my best friend is blown, they did ask her if she would like to reschedule, but again she’s coming from out of town so her time is limited.

Moral of the story, I feel like this all could’ve been prevented if they considered getting a website of even a Style Seat account for you to book online. Communicating via text and making a deposit through cash app is honestly too much. But beings as though I am a fan of their work I didn’t mind. I’m sure they do AMAZING work but to prevent any confusion in the future please make some changes. I would still like to use you guys in the future.

Got my facial done with Ryan! He was super sweet and gentle. There was a mess up with my appointment the owner apologized and quickly fixed the problem! I came all the way from The Bronx wouldn’t mind taking the drive down there again.

A little pricey but the ladies who work here are very professional, courteous, and knowledgeable.

I’ve had two facials so far with Ryan and it’s very worth it I stick with my skin care regimen that was suggested and my face looks and feels beautiful it’s worth the price facial is for and hour and a half also it’s not rushed.last time I went I feel asleep and believe I was snoring lol

I'm sure the services are ok but the owner has a very unpleasant disposition. Makes you feel small for asking questions and just has an overall bad attitude. Some one of her age should have a bit more decorum and understanding to all people especially when you are suppose to be a professional business. Very unfortunate because I have admired her work for a long time and hoped to one day use her services but unfortunately won't ever be spending my money there. Arrogant, rude, not tactful. Feeds the angry black woman stereotype. How unfortunate

Top notch facility.clean professional staff Janaiah was very good she explained what she was doing and why very informative.

Absolutely love the slikcocoon, Ms. Jae hands are blessed she's super patient and her staff is awesome. Got a Brazilian wax for the first time. Ms. Jae did it in record time: 12 minutes to be exact! Will forever be a client there she clean and everything was sterilized.

I’ve came here 3 times thus far. I had to facials with Ryan and I’ve gotten my eye brows wax/tinted by Jae. And let me tell you. I get so excited when I have an appointment with them. They’re the most sweet, informative, down to earth, clean establishment I’ve been too. Your beauty is #1 with them. Its so clean in there - you can eat off the floor! Super comfortable, always great conversation with Ryan he is amazing! And for the 2 times I’ve went to see him he fed me so much information and my skin is doing great. I stalk their IG because they always give out free game. The prices are worth the results trust me.

My experience at this establishment unfortunately was not good. I was treated with disrespect, unacceptable and unprofessional behavior. I was scheduled for a Deep Cleansing Facial at 2pm and was not seen until 3: 50pm. I arrived on time for my appt and followed the protocol that was given to me.

I texted when I arrived to inform them I arrived for my appt. I then waited outside for approximately 30 minutes and had to actually call them to get an acknowledgment of my arrival. I was instructed at that time that I could come inside. The owner of the establishment did not greet me with a greeting nor did she apologize for the inconvenience of having me wait. Instead she immediately informed me I was unable to talk on my phone and my ringer needed to be on silent. To say the least she was unwelcoming and cold.

I sat and waited for approximately 2 hours and neither her or her other Aestheticians checked in with me to simply thank me for waiting or offered a kind apology for the long wait. When they finally were able to service me, my patience had ran out. I kindly expressed to the Aesthetician that I decided not to move forward with my facial and requested a refund of my deposit. The owner refunded me my money but seemed very aggravated and didn’t even ask me was there anything that she could do to help with my experience.

We did go outside to further discuss why I felt neglected and unwelcomed but she continued to deflect and not accept responsibility and instead provided an explanation that had nothing to do with me. Apparently, another client had showed up for their appointment ahead of time and it caused a backlog. At the very least, I should have been asked if I would like to reschedule or offered some discount to mitigate the situation at hand.

The owner asked if we could go outside to discuss the situation further for privacy and it turned into her yelling and pointing in my face, as if she wanted to fight me. I will never return to this business or recommend anyone due to the unprofessional manner in which my situation was handled. I would like to add that the other two Aestheticians (her son and niece) did try to intervene when the owner was yelling and pointing in my face. They offered apologies but it was too late as the impact of the owners behavior had already made an unforgettable and unforgivable impression upon me.

Great customer service! Saw great results from my frequent visits, only stopped going because of price but I’ll be back!

I'm a 20yr man have been receiving facials from them for about 3yrs. I had really bad acne with dark marks all over my face. It took about 8 or 10 months to clean up. They put me on a skincare regiment that I do night and day. My skin still looking clear and I only see then ever three months to keep my skin looking good. They are the best at what they do. They don't rush you in and out they care about what they do. RECOMMENDATION IS 5 START LET'S SAY 10 STARTS.

Facials are amazing, very clean inside. Jae is very knowledgeable. Definitely will recommend!

The owner was not very nice I wasn’t offered anything to drink while other customers was offered something to drink. My phone ring once and she march over to my seat and wanted me to turn off my phone. The way she did it with her lip turn up and she looked very annoyed.and stood there and waited for me to turn it off I’m not a child I was very upset! I felt like I should have been treated like the rest of of her customers! I will never be back and top it off they didn’t even have the right number but I called twice and I texted them with questions that was never answered! Awful customer service!
