Skin Smart Dermatology reviews
9Got my first Botox and what a great experience! Called for an appointment on Tuesday and was in on Friday. Jackie at the front desk is so sweet and communicated every step of the way. Dr. Kaplan also made sure I knew what to expect. I’m so happy with my less angry brow:)
After two years of going there and paying every time on time one day, my insurance changed, and I forgot my NEW insurance card. THEY WOULDN’T ALLOW ME TO ENTER MY VISIT OR LET ME A FAQS EMAIL OR SEND THEM A COPY OF THE NEW CARD SO I NEVER WENT BACK.
This was my first time seeing a Dermatologist for anything. It's my understanding that this is a new location for this business. I was familiar with this location as it was where one of my previous doctors was located and a LabCorp was also located. I liked the decor of this place and everyone was very friendly and nice. I was seen very quickly and everything was explained well.
I love Skin Smart. They have a great medical and aesthetic team. If you need dermatology services or aesthetic services this is thee place to go. My skin has never looked better. Thank you for all you do here. Highly recommend.
I do NOT recommend this practice. I have gone there for years, but recently had a horrible experience. I was given a treatment for a lesion and had a poor reaction to it, causing scarring on my face. I believe that there were alternative treatments that I wasn't offered. But when I brought this up and how to deal with the scarring, I was literally told, "aren't you glad you don't have cancer. " When I directed the conversation to the still present marks on my face I was advised to wear sunscreen and go for "resurfacing" treatment which is thousands of dollars out of pocket. I did not feel heard or respected as a patient. Additionally, I felt patronized and belittled for not "wearing enough sunscreen" when the huge mark on my face caused by a prescription from their office was ignored.
My 90yr mother & myself had appointments Thursday- 4/13. Very short wait. We both were seen by Dermatologist Annie or Ammie, sorry about name. Very professional and to the point. Treated us both & we were out. I highly recommend from our Seniors experience. Front desk was very nice. Thank you for the good experience.
I had been a patient of Dr. Shawn’s for several years until yesterday. When I went for my annual appointment, I found that the office had moved. I had never been notified or even advised when I made the appointment. Of course, when I tried to call the office, all I got was voicemail. When I went to the new location and complained, I learned that the only phone is for aesthetics and the dermatology phone resides with a remote employee at her home. I was advised that the location information had been sent by email and text and that they didn’t have my email address (never requested) or my mobile number (which I had given them several times). Not one person apologized for my inconvenience. It was just the proverbial straw. I was done trying to deal with a doctor’s office that is completely unreachable except through voicemail. Done.
I've been of client of Skin Smart for over a decade now. Dr Shaw is an incredible professional and runs a classy operation. Clean and modern interior, friendly staff, (Monica at desk), they always seem to be in a good mood. I highly recommend Skin Smart for overall care of your body.
The main reason for my review today was the experience I just had with Colleen and Dr Kaplin. If you ever thought you couldn't have a great time getting surgery done on your chest well you'd be wrong. All three of us were having such a wonderful conversation talking about life and enjoying every moment we can. All the while both Colleen and Dr Kaplin were prepping me for my surgery. Everything went as planned and I was out under an hour. Thanks Colleen and Aviva for the belly laughs. See you again.
The waiting time exceeded one hour. They originally scheduled me for a surgical procedure. After waiting for two months to have an appointment, and after showing up to my appointment half an hour early, I had to wait for one and half hour before getting seen. After getting seen I was told that because the dermatologist was not the one seeing me in my initial visit, the surgical procedure I am scheduled for is too complex for an outpatient setting, and asked me to call another number to schedule another appointment for the surgical procedure with another dermatology surgeon. If anything that tells, it’s how unqualified, poorly planned, poorly managed and disorganized that place is.
Additionally, and when I expressed my discomfort with the long wait, one of their nurses was in the middle of reprimanding me, before I was able to ask for the dermatologist herself to illustrate their poor business practices.
Do NOT go there.
