Smith Memorial Playground & Playhouse reviews
14Nice play area. Buildings were under construction with tape around the area. Bathrooms were well kept ONCE you were able to LOCATE them. Directions were confusing. Attended a 4 yr. OId grand nephew's birthday party. Outdoor venue cut down on Covid transmission. Pleasant attendants did come around to check in on participants about trash, maintenance needs etc. Pleasant experience other than trying to find bathroom facilities. You bring your own food. There were reserved areas with partial covering and table benches for party hosts. Didn't get to go on the famous giant slide. Park area was closing.
Another very fond distant memory from my past. This place is certainly quite salient as well as indelible in my mind and memorable to me from the many places I visited during my childhood. I came here once with a group other kids from a summer camp several decades ago. I can recall we all had an absolutely stellar and jovial time on the famous and colossal vintage wooden slide they have at this place. I never seen anywhere else that has a huge wooden slide like here at Smith Memorial Playground & Playhouse, which makes this venue truly unique. Although I am now a fully grown man, I would love to eventually come back here only if I have any children in the future. I highly recommend paying this place a visit. It's a fantastic place to bring kids.
So much free fun I'm thankful for this place! It makes both children of very different ages 10 and 3 very happy. The slide is awesome sauce! Different kinds of swings! Bathrooms are new and clean! It's a must come!
A great place that is gated and protected for the children to play and have fun while the adults get a chance to sit down relax and think.
There are a few things that need repairs, but for the size of this place that's totally understandable. It's huge and lots of fun. There are secrets to discover everywhere.
Not what it use to be. It's not accessible to public transportation. I was really disappointed.
Had a birthday party for grandson. Turned out better than expected
Grounds are well maintained. Kids had a great time. Staff was very helpful setting up and breaking down.
Visited the vintage wooden slide during a Fairmount Park Scavenger Hunt. Love that it's open to all ages. Do recommend taking the burlap sheet to protect yourself as you slide down. It is not too steep - fun for all ages.
I can't wait until they finish the indoor play area! This is a great FREE place to bring the kids where they can blow off steam! I hadn't been here in 50 years.
My favorite kiddos place in thee entire universe. I travel from a different part of the city to get here daily. I have consistently been going to this park over seven years.
My two year old had much fun here. The wooden slide is so much fun even for adults just be sure to bring lots water and some food! Oh and it was free
I loved this place since I was a kid. They have many more rides and play areas now and kids absolutely love there.
Phenomenal park. This was me and the kids 1st and we really enjoyed ourselves. The big slide with the potato sacks will have you there for hours alone
Great place for children to play. Tons of parking and had water ice vending for the kids. Will go back again.
