Smugglers' Wharf reviews
18I will return anytime I'm in Erie for work. The she crab soup was absolutely wonderful. I enjoyed the view of the bay, along with great service and a warm, cozy feel.
The food was fabulous but a bit overpriced. We expected more seafood items but it wasn't so yet the atmosphere and service we great. Overall it was nice place just expect to spend 75-100 for you and a date
First time I had a lobster roll. I really liked it. The shrimp cocktail was good. It was the first time my wife had one and she really enjoyed it. The also have good selections for the little ones. The interior is relaxing and is cozy
Everytime we are in the area we stop. The best soup: The Shecrab soup is our go to plus the pieces of 8. Best soup! Maybe the place needs updated.but it's a good place to eat.
Very polite waitstaff
Prompt delivery of food
Food done to order
Very good Salman and chowder
Will return!
Food was not as good this time. Our steak was leathery/dry. It must have been an off day. Waitress was attentive & friendly.
Such a cozy place! Stopped in for dinner on Saturday right at five and got a table near the fireplace right away. View of the water is incredible. I had the Lobster Roll and a side order of Old Bay Potatoes, both delicious! Hubby had a seafood pasta dish that he loved. Highly recommend and I know we’ll go back next time we’re in town.
Short on staff, but who isn't right now.very good wait staff and was enjoyable time.clean and comfy
Food was excellent. They were short staffed but good came quickly and everyone was pleasant.
OMG this place is unbelievable, verity of different dishes, muscles were the best, coconut shrimp was bomb. Highly recommend for seafood lovers 5 stars all day
Cute place, waitress was very nice. My son liked his steak meal but the seafood was awful. My husband couldn't eat the clam chowder.and hes not picky. My scallops tasted and smelled like ammonia, They adjusted our bill no questions asked. Which is good because we had to stop at McDonald's afterwards. We had 3 other people in our party and their meals were edible. I would go there again but just for burgers and fries. I enjoyed watching the birds on the lake before and after dinner. I feel like they just need a good cook and this could be a great place to visit. Patio was closed still.
Excellent food. As good as they East Coast. My wife had a lobster roll and I had SheCrab soup and Crab Cakes. As good as Boston, Charleston and/or Baltimore! Excellent service, nice views of the bay. Not cheap but very much worth it, imho.
We went for dinner here tonight and were greeted with a sign that asked for patience as the establishment was "very understaffed. " They should take that sign down because their service was top notch. I can't imagine what it's like when it's fully staffed! We ordered the seafood melt appetizer which was great. My husband ordered walleye and I had the bourbon pecan chicken. The walleye got a great review. There was nothing wrong with the chicken, just not my cup of tea. Our waitress was efficient, service-oriented, and attentive. And it was also the shortest wait we have ever had for our food.kudos to the chefs for working under tough conditions.
Service schetchy, Tuna steak okay. Cole slaw needs work. A bit pricey considering.

Even though they warn service might be slow due to being short handed, being seated, waited on and food served were all very prompt. Good food and great location.
Not terrible but definitely not impressive either. The staff was very friendly, but the food was horrible. I ordered the clam chowder which tasted purely of salt and the saltine crackers served with the soup were stale. I had ordered the perch, which either did not spend enough time in the fryer, or worse was microwaved because the beer-battered fish was just slightly crispy, but more rubbery. The tartar sauce tasted like vinegar. My partner had the seafood carbonara, but according to him, there was no langostino. We will definitely not be returning.
The view of the dock is amazing from Smugglers Warf. Bunches of plants and ivy cover the front deck. A beautiful place to sit in the summer. The inside has tons of mirrors to bring the outside in and makes a cozy place to eat anytime. The seafood is delicious and reasonably priced. The waitress was friendly. The atmosphere is relaxed and enjoyable. A perfect place to return time and time again.
