Social Security Administration reviews
12Had a wonderful experience. My 1st time in, the guard at the door was super nice and very helpful. I was the only one there. Went to the gal, talked, made an appointment and left. Thinkci was there maybe 10 minutes. Had a very positive experience, but this was my first experience too. We shall see what the future holds. As of now, I wait. Lol.
Social Security in Altoona, Pa. Is a nice small town office. It does. Ot get busy. Appt's are by phone.
You enter and greeted by security, answer the questions asked of you, then you answer the computer questions, printed a call number, called to window asked questions and given info about when you will get a call for your application day. It's about three weeks wait for your time to apply by phone.
On hold for 1hr 44 minutes! You are now closed! I called at 2: 10 pm! It's 4: 05pm! Disgraceful!
Kept getting hung up on. Would hold for 20 minutes and get disconnected. Terrible service. Waist of time.
I called and called til my call went through. The young girl was very polite and informative of what I need to bring and do to get my name changed to my married name.
I give him 0 STARS! The customer service man named Eric was very short and rude with me and didn't want to answer any questions unless I asked a couple times and didn't tell me anything I need to get my benefits back while applying and that I'll be getting a letter in the mail. Well that doesn't answer any questions I have.
I am beyond disappointed and very frustrated with the way he spoke to me! So rude, arrogant and ignorant as far as I'm concerned.
Don't ever try to talk to him or ask for help because he just ignores you or cuts you off in mid sentence!
I don't know but he needs a serious attitude adjustment!
I called atleast 10 times before I finally got to speak to someone. The person I spoke with was very uninformative. I had to ask questions and wait for half answers. The person was not the friendliest or the most helpful.
Worthless picking up the phone when you really need them for something really important especially when you need them to create an online account
Yes I need to change my name to my married name. I have called Altoona office twice and both times they hung up on me after waiting a long time for them to answer. I tied the 1-800 number and they hung up on me. You wait forever to talk to someone just for them to hang up on you. Poor service.
Horrible woman just yelled and hung up my phone while I was politely stating my situation. She said I have called before which is ridiculous because I DID NOT. People are already going through hardship during COVID. Why can't we be patient and less selfish and more sympathetic for others ?
