Songsan Korean BBQ, Ardmore PA

The food is quite good. The only ‘complaint’ I guess I have is that they put my reservation down wrong and tried to blame me for it instead of taking ownership of their mistake. We made a reservation for 6: 30pm, even confirmed it on the phone 3 times while making the reservation. Still when we get there, they acted all confused and said that the reservation was for 6 and we’re late and have to wait. No apology, nothing. I tried telling them that no, we made it for 6: 30, but they dismissed me.

I don’t mind waiting, things happen. I just didn’t like the way they behaved about it.

If you go here, I recommend focusing on the bbq and leaving the a la carte items for another place. The pre-cooked dishes are overpriced and the quantity is little. For example, jeyuk bokkum was $18 I believe, but there was hardly any meat and it was jam packed with carrots instead. The pork was also tiny shreds of pork. If I wanted stir-fried veggies, I would have gotten stir-fried veggies. Places like Dubu are your best bet for things like jeyuk bokkum. Meanwhile, their bbq quantity and taste is pretty good.

Also, it blows my mind that they charge extra to refill side-dishes. I have never in my life seen a korean restaurant charge to refill side dishes before. So I guess ration your side dishes if you don’t want to pay extra.

If you show up after 8: 00pm, do not expect them to let you cook your own food. All in all the food was okay but not very authentic tasting, maybe because it’s Ardmore? Not sure. We ordered beers that came after we got our food because the waitstaff was preoccupied teaching another waiter Spanish lol.other than that parking is good

Very pricey for very little portions. Asked for rice multiple times and when I finally received it, it was undercooked.

My wife and I came here with our friends on a very cold and rainy night recently. It was very packed and warm and cozy in there. The food smells were appealing and we sat at the table readily looking to the menu for good Korean food.
I'm not sure what it was, we didn't commit to the Korean BBQ dishes and we got some of the appetizers and some regular dishes.
The Japchae and scallion pancakes were really oily and seemed to be lacking flavor. My friend said their plate didn't hit it for them either. But on the flip side, my wife said she loved her Bipimbap.
Service takes a hit because I ordered a soup dish but it actually never came. We were halfway through eating and a soup dish that late in our hangout was not something I felt needed to get added at that point. I'd equate it to being like an empty oasis that the rain missed, but it needed it to stay well filled and beautiful. It was a miss this time for me but I'd give it another chance on another occasion, if ever.

First timers and we'll definitely be back! Service was top notch, food was amazing, loved the decor, too. The BBQ was fun and super tasty. Everyone was very friendly. My new fave! Added plus that my teens raved about it, too. Thanks so much!

Our first Korean meal, and it was a winner! Our server helped us make a few choices and everything we got was flavorful, nicely portioned, and came out quickly. Can’t wait to go back for BBQ next time. Wish we had found this place sooner!

The food is delicious (a lil pricey tho)! We got cheesy tteokbokki and pork which came with pickles, beansprouts, lettuce, rice and I think pickled radish (which wow, I didn't know radishes could be so good). The only thing is our waitress didn't table touch so we ran out of water lol. But I'd definitely come back here or order takeout.

Such an odd experience. Walk in and it’s empty but the vibe is still super welcoming and someone comes to hand me a menu. I’m not guided to any of the open tables so I just sit on the waiting area chairs. Someone else comes up to take my order still not asking if I’m here to go. Even after paying I’m like hi do I sit over there or… lol So it’s starting to feel unwelcoming so I confirm I just want it to go at this point. Food is overall fine but no silverware to go and I have to go back and eat this in the office with luckily a spoon I found but no bowl. Such a weird experience

Food was great. Just the right amount of spice. My daughter and I loved it. I had the squid and it was perfect. Dumplings were some of the best I have had with sauce that my daughter almost drank off the plate. Very good and well priced for the amount of food we received. We will be back to cook on the table!

Great small restaurant. Cook your own food or get something from the kitchen, you can't go wrong.

Great food, good value. Long wait so be sure you don't have somewhere to be after. Once it cleared out a bit at the end of the dinner rush, they were awesome.

I’ve gone a few times, but today was the end of me ever going back. Hostess came out twice only to tell me one moment. Then another couple came in after me and were promptly seated while I continued to wait. It was 2: 15 pm on a weekday with only one other table that was occupied. I walked out. Never again. Over priced for mediocre food.

Milagros was our server, I think she is new there but she was amazing, definitely coming back if she is our server again. She recommended a soju drink and it was delicious. The food is crazy good, we had spicy calamari and chicken bbq, and their kimchi was awesome! Milagros made sure we had everything we needed, brought a fork when she saw my friend struggling with the chopsticks.

Good Korean BBQ restaurant with delicious food. Expensive, but one BBQ plate is enough for 2 people. Unfortunately, you can grill meat by yourself if only order 2+ plates

This was our fourth visit here. The food is amazing. Love it here. Friendly service. Food has been consistently delicious. We will be back. A hidden gem.
