South Square Market reviews
14Clean, friendly staff, fresh fruits salads, meats, cheeses, breads, high quality groceries for purchase.
This is a great small supermarket. The vegetables, meats and fruit are fresh, the store is well stocked and the environment is clean and bright. The people who work there are pleasant, too.
A good store.located in South street! Also a heritage store as its running for last 18 years! High quality products! But a little bit pricey which can be justified by wide range if items and fresh& organic produce! Freshly baked goods also available. The staff is very friendly and customer support is good too.apart from grocery items there are such other household items available which one may need often who lives in the neighborhood!
Great supermarket with baked goods and lots of gourmet, international and vegan groceries.
Super convenient and they always have everything I’m looking for. Such a great selection, especially for vegetarian and gluten free stuff
This market feels a bit like walking into the late 90s in decor, but the quality of the goods is excellent. They stock a variety of the essentials and some unusual items that the typical grocery store doesn’t. Things such a DiBrunos Willy wonka cake and King Arthur Masa. The staff are personable and helpful. There is a real community feel here.
It’s a cute market… a little expensive, but if you need to pick up a few things it will do!
I would advise you only buy non perishables from this store. On two separate occasions I've come home to unpack/clean produce only to find that its covered in mold.
The employees of the South Street market are not taking the appropriate protocols for COVID-19 some aren’t wearing their mask or either Properly using hand sanitizer after touching their face. I was very disappointed of what I saw
They have everything you typically look for and good produce. While it’s not the cheapest and you can find better meats elsewhere in the city, I like supporting the neighborhood market and it’s very nice to have.
Recommendation to management: if you want shopping carts put in a specific place due to covid, put a sign at each cashier lane indicating that.
I went here today and they did not have a lot of items I was looking for which is cool because they are a neighborhood market. But after waiting in a long line to check out the cashier did not say hello to me or anything for that matter. He practically threw my change at me and didn’t say goodbye or anything. Usually I don’t care if an employee is rude but this was over the top. Maybe just covid stress
This store has to have the most unfriendly and cranky cashiers. They make it unpleasant to shop here.
The staff are always helpful and kind and the selection is wonderful, particularly considering their square footage. Great selection of local specialties like DiBruno cheese and Metropolitan breads, fresh produce, good quality meat. What’s most impressive to me though is how they’re stepping up to help the neighborhood during COVID—they’ve got an impressive sanitation station outside for their carts and baskets and things have generally been well stocked. Walk the few hundred yards past the chain and support this local business that’s seeing us through a challenging time.
