Spark Orthodontics of Harrisburg reviews
5I came here in November in 2022 we were told that I would need underbite correction surgery and I said I do not want that. We never got a call back or anything we tried going back one day but they brushed us off and said they would call, but they never did.
I started my braces journey before covid and all was Great with doctor Matt. Then he left and they got a new orthodontist named doctor Matt as well, he was horrid! He had terrible bedside manner, dismissed my concerns, gaslite me, and tried to debrace me WAY before I was anywhere close to being ready. I left his office in tears close to 5 appointments with him before I had a terrible anxiety attack in office and was kindly transferred to another spark facility. Someone needs to look into Doctor Matt and do a formal review if one is not already in place. I Would not recommend this office at all! Unless they get a new orthodontist.
Had X-rays done in January and appointment made for braces to be applied (I confirmed the appointment about 3 times via text and email) Went to the appointment and orthodontist stated he had no idea we were coming he wasn’t prepared. After a rushed 5 minute conference we were given a referral for a surgeon to review the X-rays (this took 4 months to complete via online conference) made another appointment with Sparks had a scan done for palette expander. Waited a month and went in for separators to be placed. Went a week later (today) to have braces and palette expander put on. The expander doesn’t fit! So they do another scan and make another appointment in a month to try again. This has been 7 months and 5 appointments of pure frustration. After today’s appointment I’m questioning why the actual orthodontist isn’t the person that applies the braces etc he seems to just stroll around and check the girls that are doing the actual work. This is the only practice that accepts my grandsons insurance so I truly feel like I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place. It’s a 45 minute drive each way for us to go and it feels like every appointment has been a disappointment and wasted time. Can I trust Sparks to properly apply and adjust the items needed if it’s this difficult to even get started?
We are still new to this. So far so good, but whenever a company merges there are issues. Be patient talk to the staff to clear up issues and be patient. I wore braces and children must follow the instructions, not doing so can result in prolonged treatment.
