Special Smiles, Ltd, Philadelphia PA

My 51yo brother has intellectual and physical disabilities and switched from a regular pediatric dentist (great at working with my adult brother) to Special Smiles in December 2021. We've now been there 3 times, and I love the place. They are very organized and on top of things, which helps, especially when I'm not, or when, say, my doctor's office isn't. Every single person in the office, regardless of role or title, has been professional, very friendly, and excellent at working with my brother, who responds extremely well to kindness. I'm so grateful that a place like Special Smiles exists because (and I checked) we would have to pay thousands and thousands of dollars out-of-pocket elsewhere for the service they provide and which is covered by my brother's insurance. We drive over an hour to get to Special Smiles, which kind of sucks, but it's so worth it.

Ok place…. However, needs to get a tad more organized. My son an I waited for 4 hours for a 9: 30 appointment. Not easy for a 17 year old boy with autism to go on an empty stomach for that long. He got very bored and restless. Also the waiting rooms are freezing.

Seems like the right place for a person in a wheelchair to get all their dental work done.

It was, awesome job. I'll never go anywhere else again.
