State College Orthodontics reviews
5After I completed my braces time with State College Orthodontics, I went back because I was having some problems with my retainers. They answered all my questions and provided me with a new set of retainers that better fit my needs. All around it was a fantastic experience! I'd specifically like to thank Dr. Ray and Chelsea, the technician who helped me!
Excellent care! And Shout out to Chelsea! Our sons expander came out Sunday evening before a holiday - and she came in to the office to fix it for us!
Good: The office is clean and welcoming. All of the staff is friendly. Offer free financing for the Invisalign. The Invisalign itself has been an easy experience.
Bad: They have too many patients which snowballs into other issues. Often times, appointments are further out than you'd like because they're so booked. I've seen a different person every time. This had caused conflicting direction for my Invisalign a few times. Also, they have a good-intentioned rewards program that often gets overlooked during your visits.
Conclusion: This office is a good choice for those looking for a more autonomous experience. If you're looking for a place with a more personalized experience, I would go to a smaller office.
My braces journey started in August 2019 with my first visit to SCO and Dr Ray for a fact gathering appointment to investigate my options and the cost of getting braces as an adult. Madison, one of SCO's treatment coordinators, and Dr Ray were friendly and thorough in providing information and answering all our questions. Due to some other large expenses in life at that time we had to put this on the backshelf until November 2021 when we were finally able to move forward with a re-evaluation exam. We were able to schedule my braces to go on February 12,2022 and surgery with Dr Engroff and Tri- County Oral Facial Surgeons on February 24,2022. Between the November and February appointments, Madison answered all my silly questions as I hadn't really had anyone close to me recently go through braces so there were a lot of them. She answered each one with patience and kindness. February 12th came along and Tina, the Clinical Coordinator, and Dr Ray put on my braces and we were off to the races. I didn't start getting adjustments until mid March as we had to wait for my surgery and some healing from that before we could get started. But once we did, I was averaging coming in every two weeks and every one of SCO's clinical assistants from Keelie to Sammie to Madi to most recently and often Jordin have been an absolute delight to deal with. They have been compassionate and caring in everything they have done. From the front door and being greeted by Dreu to passing Brittany on the way out. Each member of this team cares about each other and their patients. They make you feel like one of the "family". Dr Ray had estimated I'd be in my braces for 14 months. Knowing each situation is unique, one never knows for sure how long you will be with these new friends. For me, this journey is coming to a close two months earlier than planned. My braces are scheduled to come off February 22nd. SCO has been my social outlet over the past year and I will miss these gals more than words can say. My husband Dave and I are very pleased with the results of this past year and would strongly recommend anyone thinking about getting braces to go meet with Madison and Dr Ray to find out your options.
