Staybridge Suites Philadelphia- Montgomeryville, an IHG Hotel, North Wales PA

Been coming here many times over the years, and each time it gets a little worse. 2 weeks ago there was room cleaning, this week there isn't. 4th floor upper 30's rooms there is warm water here, but not hot water. Bathroom sink drains at about a gallon an hour. Air conditioner was replacement, but instead of being controlled at the wall where the powered thermostat is (that's still on) it's controlled at the unit itself at the window. The main common area furniture has the material worn off all the seats. Couple weeks ago a room door was so screwed up, I saw a guy have to kick it to get the door back in the frame because the screws were pulled out of the door, guy said he was just checking in and went back down to get another room.

This hotel started out great, but man they are really running it into the ground.

Is it possible to give this place zero stars? We had 30 rooms booked for our wedding weekend, and I couldn’t tell you one positive experience that our guests had. From room keys repeatedly ceasing to work, to rooms being dirty and mildewy, to employees not caring about a single thing, this is the worst hotel in the country, let alone Pennsylvania. Not to mention we had a guest who literally noticed dried blood on her pillow when she checked in, and when she asked for it to be changed, the staff refused. So… if you have even an inkling to stay at this hotel, don’t do it. It would honestly be better just to sleep in the parking lot, which by the way is no longer free to park in. I can’t even fathom how this hotel is even open anymore - total shame on IHG. Will only stay at Hilton from now on!

This is one of the worst hotels that I stayed at in a long time.
Rooms were dirty; carpet stains with obnoxious odors. Hallways and adjacent rooms were in disarray. Pool is permanently closed for social distancing? Fitness room nonexistent. Breakfast area is a disaster; all the chairs were torn/worn. I felt dirty just looking at them. Weekly social is a joke; maybe 2 non eatable looking food items; no beverages offered. All outside side entrances do not open with room key. Very unsafe hotel in emergency; hallway exit stairs fire doors were always left open.
Management and staff do not care about any of your complaints; just read the reviews…Hank McPartland; Asst. General Manager just responds with the same form letter.
So Hank…no need to respond, I already read the dozens of your form letter responses to other dissatisfied guests! Thanks for your helpful suggestions!

I have stayed in this hotel before
On my last stay it was very disappointing
Carpets very dirty steps had food and dirt particles on them carpets had large stains
All the side entrance doors did not work with swipe card. Now this problem of key cards not working on side doors was there last year you would think they would have solved the issue
Had to wait 15 minutes for someone to show up at the service desk
Pool and hot tub not working
Won’t be coming back

Nope, nope and nope. Don't do it. "Full kitchen" is not a full kitchen, no oven and nowhere to sit down and eat said meals. There are very little kitchen supplies. My room occupancy is 4, and there are not 4 of anything, plates, silverware, cups, or bowls, nothing has 4. NONE of the dishes were clean. There is not enough kitchenware to prepare an actual meal either. We got the king studio for reference.
Our first room had a sizeable bloodstain on the carpet, so we asked to switch rooms. Staff is decent so far.
ETA- The breakfast isn't passable, zero breakfast meats, disposable silverware, plates and bowls. Only positive thing from breakfast is I was able to get a full set of plates and silver for dinner.
I don't know how this hotel is 3 star. Every chair in the dinning room and our room is cracked. On top of all the things.

After checking in we had difficulty finding our room as the entire floor all the room door plates were taken down and hidden behind wall lamps, granted this was due to on going renovations. After multiple circles on the floor lugging our luggage we located our room. Our room was ice cold and the AC blower was locked on full blast I was unable to turn down AC, we had to rush to a pre arranged wedding function and thought on our return to the room in the evening the reception would get a technician to fix it, only to be told that no technicians work at night, reception could not transfer us to another room as they were sold out, they also didn't have hair dryer in the room, we were here for a wedding and the most simplest room item was missing. Since we had no choice we had to block AC vents with two large spare pillows to block cold air flow and managed to sleep the first night.   Next morning spoke to manager Hank, who was most apologetic and both the hair dryer and AC were fixed. Staff tried to help but the entire hotel needs serious upgrades swimming pool and gym were closed during our stay

Room and furniture was nice. Staff was not very friendly. Breakfast was awful, worst I've experienced in many many hotel stays. The eggs looked like they'd been there for hours unchanged.

The rooms are nice but the hotel itself was in need of many repairs and the lobby was so hot they had swamp fans cooling it

I’m here in a business trip, I have to say the staff is lazy and get annoyed for any of their own faults in the hotel. My room key gets deactivated they get mad because I need a new one. Like wow pressing 5 buttons doesn’t take that much effort! Room hasn’t been cleaned in days. Most of the outside doors don’t work. Hotel on the inside looks ugly everything is old. 25% of the laundry room works … barely. Pools closed gyms closed assuming because it clearly needs renovations. Breakfast is made with 1% intention. This hotel needs saving. Save your money and stay somewhere else where you will be happy.

Not horrible, it was a place to sleep. No remote in my room the first night, no coffee in the room after the first night, halls and common areas sweltering hot. Staff was super nice and tried to help but didn't have supplies available

Rooms are cheap for a reason. We arrived and were given a room. When we got to the room it was already occupied. We were given another room which smelled disgusting and the shower had no shower head or handle. The thermostat didn't work so the room was hot all night. Manager gave us some money back the next day due to the quality of our stay, regardless we will not be staying at this hotel again.

Smells bad everywhere. No Aircon on the main floor (dining area and lobby). The place is run down. Breakfast items had less items each day I stayed. You can hear everything that happens in the hallway from the room.

Checked in Thursday. No AC in lobby or corridors, doors propped open for air, which was a problem as air quality due to smoke was poor, so there was heat plus smoke. We had planned to meet and hang out in the lobby as we were there with a group.
Checked out today, never saw an AC repair truck or any attempt to fix. Furniture in lobby is peeling, seats have flakes coming off as you sit, same with bar stools in rooms. Carpet is '70s style brown, and is terribly stained. Pool closed. Many issues with keys not working, having to get duplicates. NEVER asked for ID or proof we were staying there. Happened to others in our party as well. There are many other hotels to choose from in the immediate area, I would not stay here again.

Booked threw hotels. Com, Arrived at the hotel to be told we where bumped from are from, 3 hours before check in. They sent me a email stating they could not honner are room.
But did not try to call me at all. And they had no rooms available. They also gave a room to a couple tjat came in after me, someone elses room. Smh.

Had to leave a hotel (at 10pm) and go elsewhere for the first time in my life it was so bad.
Worst part: trash (bandaid wrapper) found in my bed, black dirt on pillow of bed, black dog hair & specks of dirt in bed. Obviously sheets weren’t changed.

When I arrived the lobby and halls were all 80+ degrees. Figured no big deal but noted. Room was almost 80 degrees. Wall thermostat said 78 but set @71. This thermostat didn’t control unit. Controls on actual unit did so I set them to 70. Room only got to 76 after hours and shut off. Had to keep turning it down to get it slightly cool.
Room had a weird musty smell like animal urine. Got on the floor to stretch my back and noted long white dog hair all over carpet.
Kitchen was gross in appearance. Coffee machine present but no coffee at all or supplies.
Went to the hotel store to get bottled water and cooler with drinks was completely empty with not 1 drink of any kind - had to drive to seven eleven.
Gym was closed but they gave complimentary pass to LA fitness across parking lot.
All of this was an annoyance and not preferable but not the end of the world and was willing to deal with it but aside from the room smell and dog hair the bed which the sheets were clearly not changed was the last straw. The trash bandaid wrapper was in tact and did not go through the wash so there’s no way especially with the dog hair that it somehow stuck to the laundry after being washed.
When I told the front desk (at 10pm) their first solution offered was to have housekeeping do a full clean and sanitize but not until am because that’s when they came in although I clearly explained I had nowhere clean to sleep. She said she would check on another room either there or another hotel and call me back. Never called me back. I had to call again at which point I was told she checked on another room at this hotel and there wasn’t one. I asked to check out and be refunded which she agreed on. When I was leaving she and some other guy sitting at the desk were kind of snickering and laughing at me and the guy made some comment which I didn’t fully hear laughing at the bed being dirty and making a joke about it at which point the lady smacked him like two teens joking around and snickered too and said “haha shut up”. Took my keys and while laughing said sorry have a good night.

Price was reasonable, staff was friendly if not mentally checked out, but definitely rough around the edges. Elevator button on first floor had exposed wires, our room A/C had a constant clanking noise that sounded like a bad engine revving. The toilet wouldn’t stop running, missing tiles in the bathroom showing what could be mold, the iron didn’t work, and our door didn’t have a safety bar it had been broken off. Wasn’t informed until after booking our reservation the gym and pool were closed. Breakfast was burnt eggs. It got the job done, roof over our heads and a place to sleep but I don’t think I’d stay here again.

Will never stay at this facility when in town for business ever again. Shower has mold, loud music, keys don't work most times to unlock your room door. I strongly recommend people check in the Hampton Inn next door. I asked the front desk to have the next door room to turn down the music and it's still loud. Unbelievable. Can't believe people think they're at home or at the club. Guess my next step is to call the police myself and report the loud noise.

We passed up better places because this place advertised a pool. The pool was "broken" with no indication when we booked. However night time manager was very nice and agreed to take care of us on the last night of our stay.

Stayed there almost 3 weeks ago and the hold on my credit card is still “pending” I keep getting the run around from the hotel.

I stayed at this establishment for a month, during my stay I started to have issues with the front desk clerk named Yvonne who works 7 to 3 everyday anyway on my last day I dropped off the key cards at the desk and leave, days later I get a call from Yvonne stating I had a " balance " how could that be when I checked out and I had proof as well, next thing I know Yvonne stole money from a card she should have never had the numbers to due to the fact I had the bank change and shut down that card.when I called and spoke to the manager dawn she was really nasty and rude I will never ever stay at this staybridge again I don't care if my life depended on it.if you should happen to stay here be careful they like to charge you after you've checked out
