Steel Curtain reviews
7My favorite coaster at Kennywood for pure thrills! I love the legacy coasters here, but Steel Curtain is just a great fast, twisty course!
This was undoubtedly one of the best rollercoasters I've ever ridden. I loved rollercoasters my entire life, but something that has turn me off is the constant jerking around. This was the complete opposite! Every spin, turn, and loop was silky smooth, making it a pleasure to ride. I ended up having to ride it twice to be confident about writing this review, and it did not disappoint even the second time.
I couldn't believe that it was running, after seeing the temporary closure board at the roller coaster two times this year. I got in the line as soon as I saw it running. 30 minute wait. But oh boy, it was so worth it. Crazy inversions, drops, heights, twists and turns for a total of 2 minutes but my adrenaline was so high it felt like 20 seconds. Absolutely phenomenal experience. And at no point did it feel insecure. That's world-class right there.
Newest coaster at the park, and it delivers! Very fun steel rollercoaster with a high number of inversions. Line can get very long, was already about an hour by the time we made our way there around park opening.
Great ride! Beware of vertigo and puking though, this ride is no joke!
It's the most hardcore roller-coaster at the park. Great speed and a lot of 360 turns and twists!
The ride is stellar, certainly a unique one that cannot be experienced anywhere else. The first "Drachen Fire" drop and the zero-G stall over the midway are my favorite elements of the ride. It hauls through the layout, is very well paced, and gives a thrilling sensation throughout. The ride does have quite a bit of a rattle, which is worrisome for a 3 year-old ride (Sky Rocket, 12 years old, and Phantom, 21 years old, are both smoother), but outside of that, I found it very fun and memorable.
