We actually drove our car to the railroad crossing closest to the picnic grove. The grove looks very nice but the pictures, sounds, and feeling of the train going by are amazing! Worth a side trip after you take the train!

Visited here to see the Norfolk & Western steam locomotive 611. It's a great place to view trains. I had a great time!

Rustic spot for a picnic to break up your ride on the Strasburg Rail Road.
Picnic tables and grills are available, as well as play areas for kids and port-a-pots.
Train will drop you off on its return trip, and you can then catch a later returning train to get back to the station.

It's a historical railroad that travels threw Amish country, It's a great and wonderful experience, lots to do at the station, and nice 45 minute ride on a steam train.

Tour experience was "Not bad". Employees on the train are all extremely friendly and helpful!

Picnic area could be better equipped. NO AREA FOR RECYCLING at picnic area! Surprising in this day and time.

Just a thought:

We took the tour on a day when it was 90° outside. The tour company should sell (Hand Fans) for people to cool off during the ride and while at the picnic area. This would be greatly appreciated by your patrons and could be another source of revenue for your company!

Relaxing train ride through farm land. Certain cars provide refreshments while the Dining Car serves a full meal. Shops and food at the station.
