Our appointments typically ally run at least 15 minutes behind schedule. The staff are super friendly.

“Not taking new patients” for well over a year now. But they will take an extra $100 for an emergency…although, don’t expect them to treat it as such. Be prepared to wait hours or days.
Other negative reviews are right…Very strange place with an oddly rude staff. Ultimately I am glad to avoid SAH.
We found Wolf Run in Muncy and it is worth the drive for our animals.

We had an incredible weekend having one cat die on the way to be put down because of suffering. He died on the way Spanky was my kitty since birth. Thank you for all the love & and support, plus this precious card. Thank you, Dr. Craig J Spisak for caring for our kitty Cloey and for diagnosing her, treating her as well as guiding me in being able to help aid her in her healing. Thank you to all of the staff, the girls that helped aid the doctor. It's been such a blessing being connected with you!

The doctor's and staff were very kind and compassionate. They were really kind as I sat with my faithful pet as she passed away.

Hey if anyone was turned away as a new patient, you can have my spot. We've decided to move to another vet after trying our best to endure SAH for three years. Bare with me.

1) Tried their wellness program. They CONSTANTLY messed up billing and charged us for things that should have been covered by the wellness program. At the time there was literally only one staff member who even knew how to bill it. Calling in to correct bills was routine and an annoying game of telephone tag because nobody knew how to handle billing.

2) Good luck finding appointment availability within the month.

3a) We got a dental cleaning procedure for our dog under the wellness program. Guess what, they messed up the billing and charged us for things that were covered under the wellness program.

3b) Our dog was scheduled for the dental in the morning and sat there half the day before they operated. Never called us to let us know the schedule change and I missed work to pick him up later in the day.

3c) I suspect the cleaning was done poorly. It looked good directly afterward, but for his next check up under a year later, the vet told us we should schedule a cleaning because it looked like he never had one done. Imagine the surprise when we explained SAH did one on him a few months prior!

3d) Two of his teeth are too far gone now and need to be extracted at his next dental soon. (At another vet) They were a non-issue during the SAH dental.so did they not catch the decay and/or address it during the initial cleaning?

4) Are there turnover issues? I never see the same vet or techs.

5) During the whole "C19 wait in your car" thing, their phone system was complete trash. Calling the number on their signs went to a disconnecting line. If you did manage to not disconnect, the menu navigation would either disconnect you or voicemail. I remember some phone calls taking over an hour between disconnects, transfers, etc.

6) Getting a call back as a follow up to lab work was as likely as spotting a unicorn.

7) (The final straw) For those unaware, greyhounds are boney and love to sleep. Boarding offers add-on services for various things, with one being a cot so the dog doesn't have to lay on the cold concrete floor. So, greyhounds are also large, and he is too big for the cot. Because of this, we typically bring in a pad and blanket because without that, I know for certain he would be uncomfortable in the most dramatic way possible.

The last time we boarded him, we investigated the bag when we returned home and the bedding was folded the exact same way we folded it up on drop off. After noticing this, we discovered all of his boney joints had raw marks and broken skin which was an obvious sign that a large, boney greyhound slept on cold hard concrete all week.

They never told us "no" when we handed them the bedding. They never called us to let us know they wouldn't use it. They didn't tell us they didn't use it when we picked him up. If they did any of this, I would have understood.

They didn't notice our dog whining and looking physically uncomfortable all week. (Like I said, he's extremely dramatic, there is no way you could look at this ridiculous greyhound crying on the floor contorted into some weird, dramatic, shape and think "oh he's so comfy! ")

When we called back to confront the very unempathetic boarding manager about all this, we received no apologies and were reminded about the paperwork. So, clearly, the best solution was to just pretend we never brought in the bedding and hope we didn't notice our dog covered in sores when we got home!

8) Bonus! When we transferred all our pets to another more competent veterinarian, SAH failed to transfer the file completely and the new vet thought our dog was due for 3-4 vaccinations he had literally just received the last month.

Sunbury Animal Hospital had a female Bichon name Jance for adoption which I was interested in. I wanted a female Bichon to keep my male Bichon Max company since his companion of 12 years Daisy passed away. I sent requests for information twice to Sunbury Animal Hospital. Plus twice an application for adoption. They did not have the courtesy to respond back. That I saw Tue someone adopted Jance. It seems like society wants you to adopt, but make difficult to adopt a pet than buy a pet. The adoption agencies want you to donate money, but lack communication with people who want to adopt. The adoption sites are not used friendly. I've missed out on a couple Bichons because of it and no communication back. I guess I'll quite trying to adopt and buy a female Bichon pup.

Made an appointment 6 weeks in advance, took my high anxiety pet on the 20 mile drive down, when I got there they told me they had never seen my pet before and that they weren't accepting new patients. This was totally false my pet had been a patient there before and I did schedule him an appointment that day. The manager came out after me and the the desk clerk had words. Manager told me the same thing she had.we've never seen him before and won't be. I then said to him so I came all the way down here just to be screwed and he looked at me and said "yup". I said I wouldn't be back and I stand by that. Times are very hard for vets and I understand this, but my experience was nothing but total disrespect, they were above me and I needed to beg for my cat.

I was there today and I was turned away do to not being a “patient”. I’m sorry isn’t this an ANIMAL HOSPITAL! I was told to go to Harrisburg or state college in a huge snow storm well I did just that, my dog had a huge fever, her injuries from her paw spread to her body and she was also very dehydrated. Unfortunately I was told id have to put her down soon. This isn’t even an animal hospital all they do is discriminate, judge, and turn away ANIMALS! Like who are you to tell me that my dog wasn’t HURT enough to be seen today! She literally said we are ONLY taking dogs who have been RAN OVER! I’m sorry but as a nurse you are the definition of a disgusting human being! And right before Christmas, shame on Sunbury Animal Hospital Workers! I will be calling and talking to someone higher up because my first experience was pathetic at best!

I have a cat who was shot. His care was ok. Communication is horrid here. We had a very bad situation and they made it way worse by the way it was handled. Calling phone numbers that never existed for me, telling me it was my doing, just complete nonsense. $1500 later and it took a full 22 hours of me calling and leaving my number 5+ times then a not so nice email to even get an update. Complete lack of organization that we really didn't need at the time. We will not return

If I could leave zero stars after my full experience with them I would. Unfortunately I had an outbreak of panleukopenia in my house and lost a few cats to it, specifically related to this event, one of my kittens passed away on the way there and the other we had to euthanize there. When filling out the paperwork I purposely asked for ink paw prints and I know I fully read the paperwork and there was nothing to mark on there for the paw prints. I even told the technician that if they wanted to bring the stuff in I’d do them myself if they were worried about the panleuk, he told me that wasn’t necessary and he would take care of it. This was all 9/17, they told me it should be less than a week til they were back. Fast forward to yesterday 9/26 I called to see if they had an estimate of when my cats would be back and they responded by saying they didn’t know how to answer that and they didn’t know them said it all depends on how busy the crematorium is could be a week, could be two, maybe even three. Thankfully they called me today to let me know my babies were back. After getting back home, mind you I drove a total of two hours round trip, I noticed they did not do the paw prints. When I called, they took ten minutes to even find me in the system and then proceeded to tell me that it was my fault because the box was not filled in on the paperwork. Even if I did miss it, don’t you think the technician would’ve atleast double checked? ! I am so upset and angry over how everything was handled with this place. And when pulling out the urn, I noticed the one bottom wasn’t on right and looked and saw that my babies ashes are just in ziploc bags inside the urn. I’m sorry but for as much as you pay for cremation and then they just throw the ashes in a ziploc? ! If you’re looking for care and compassion do not go to this place.

So this is a mixed review.the receptionists can be snippy and inattentive. Costs are expensive and at times money seems to be the focus. The practice is extremely busy and wait times can be long but the few vets that I see, Dr. Shaw, Dr. Blossom and Dr Peterson are very compassionate, caring and answer all questions and
concerns. Sometimes you you have to take the good with the bad. I would rather have a thorough vet then a quick appt with a vet that leaves me with concerns.

Well as I am currently at the vet with hey friend and her 16 year old lopso opso who has some mouth issues. Bacteria and tartar on her teeth. Dr. Levan and Brooklynn did such a wonderful job with helping Cinny but also he was so wonderful time explaining to us what he was doing to her reassuring and so kind ️

If you’re needing your beloved fur baby to be cared for and fought for before opting end of life care - I’d suggest not coming here. In unfortunate circumstances my aunts fur baby was extremely sick and this establishment (if you want to call it that) would not see her when she was feeling ill. They’ll see her now though, to euthanize. Please stay away from this place if you want someone to actually help.
