Sunset Valley Farm, West Chester PA

I gave 3 stars due to the instructor. She was excellent and very patient with my grandchildren who were taking their very first lesson. Those stars and more are deserved by the instructor. I removed 2 due to scheduling issues. I was asked to send available dates, which I did. The first and only lesson they had, I was called the day before, paid for the lesson over the phone and the lesson was given. My grandchildren did enjoy it very much. I contacted them and expressed I would like to purchase more lessons. I again sent available dates and paid for 4 lessons up front. I emailed to check if any dates were available, I had already made my payment. I was given a date. That week I emailed to check on the time for the lesson and was told they were closing for the holiday. Lesson never happened. I was told they coould do another date, that wasn't on my list of availability. I again gave a date we were available and was told the children were on the schedule. I emailed that week to confirm and check time and was told, they were not on the schedule and I would be contacted if their was a cancellation. I then sent an email stating it may be best to wait until spring to resume lessons, and asked for a refund for the lessons I paid for but were never scheduled. Not knowing about schedules next year, nor of the kids will still have interest, I asked for a refund. I was told they don't do refunds, yet that is not stated on the website. I did not cancel any lessons, they did or never scheduled them at all when they said they did. I instead received a gift certificate for 4 lessons and was told they have many regular clients, I have a year to use it and if they have cancellations they will put us in. Then they asked me to again send available dates. Well I did that the first time around and was told twicce they had a lesson, then told they didn't. If you expect payment upfront, that's fine, but lessons should be scheduled at the time payment is made. I finally forwarded my concerns to the owner and never even received a response. I appreciate the certificate, but I paid for 4 lessons that were never given and cancelled by them, not me. Being a bit leary of the schedulng process, I'm not sure I want to continue with this particular company next year, but they are refusing to refund my money. First they said they couldn't find the payment, I sent a copy of the receipt, then was told no refunds. Again nothing wrong with expecting payment prior to a lesson, but the lessons should at least be on the books and actually given.

Wow. A beautiful farm with a great camp program. Our little girl LOVES it here. Definitely coming back!

Visited for a one-off adult lesson for two. Staff was great, horses were great, all around great time!

Sunset Valley Farm is the best in the business! Very professional and courteous staff! If you live in the area, you must go see them!
