19A must-see if you find yourself in the area and enjoy learning about history. Family-friendly experience so bring the kids along.
Wide variety of learning opportunities at this location. History, birdlife, petroglyphs info, native life lessons. Added bonus beautiful river art by works renowned local artists!
It was an awesome experience! There was a young lady talking all about the native Americans that lived in this area over an intercom
We had a very nice visit and cruise on the Chief Uncas. Tour guide and staff were all super. Will be visiting and cruising again in the future. Love all the history.
We went on the Susquehanna River Discovery Tour Boat Ride. Very knowledgeable guide (Tess)
Interesting small museum. Took the blue trail to the other park, walked to the cemetery and also saw foundation of old house and walked around the field
An inviting and beautiful place to visit! Staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Can visit the home, hike the grounds and ride in the electric boat. A really great experience.
It was a beautiful serene evening cruise on the Susquehanna. Our guide was knowledgeable and fun. A wonderful experience!
Had a enjoyable day on the Susquehanna River. Aboard the Chief Uncas. Restored electric boat built in 1912. Experienced guide and talented captain who navigated the Susquehanna River avoiding many particially submerged logs and debris.
The boat tour was very cool. I'm born and raised in the Susquehanna Valley / Lancaster and learned quite a bit on this 45 minute cruise. Great crew, friendly and knowledgeable.
When we booked the tour we didn't realize the age and history of the boat we'd be ridding. We were just looking to take an afternoon ride on the river/lake and learn about the area. We would for certain take one of their other cruzes if we visit. The tour guide was excellent and the boat's history really cool. The entire team at the boat/historical office were kind and super helpful people with a well honed emergency plan!
The house has an amazing art gallery highlighting the history of the area. Lots of cool artifacts inside also. The boat ride was also great. Captain Eric was very experienced and our tour guide Sandy was informative and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend it, it’s worth the trip! Also, there is a neat historical trail leading to the Dritt family cemetery behind the house. It is quite a hill to walk up, but very interesting. A great way to learn about the history of the Susquehanna and the history of the Susquehannock Native American tribe.
If you are looking for an amazing venue to share time with family, business associates or customers, you should book an exclusive sunset cruise. The staff will take good care of you and you will have a wonderful experience.
Had a lovely morning on Thursday at the River Ranger program. These little ones are very excited to fish again! Excellent staff.
We booked a River Discovery Tour on the Historic Chief Uncas. The boat has room for 20
People. They have a 10am, 1pm, or sunset cruise. They have a tour guide which he explains
the heritage of the river. You can bring a snack & water to enjoy. The bathrooms are at the Zimmerman Center. You can tour the Mansion with Susquehanna River art or take a nature
walk around the center. Parking is at the Zimmerman Center. You can play, explore, and experience the Susquehanna Riverlands! There is so much to learn from the friendly, and experienced employees.
Had the absolute pleasure
of enjoying the story telling of Sara Knudson during a cruise around Lake Clarke aboard the beautiful Chief Uncas. Thanks for some great history told through engaging narrative!
Nice staff at the museum. I didn’t go on the boat ride or complete the trail, so the stars are given solely on my experience at the museum. It was a small museum with little to see.
My family and I had a great experience. The lady at front desk (sorry forgot her name) she is very knowledgeable and passionate about the history, and overall a very nice person. We learned a lot and we had a great time. Definitely recommend.
Went here and took the boat tour on the Susquehanna River. Very nice! Also their museum was very interesting
