Taboo Salon and Spa

Taboo Salon is the only place I go when I need a haircut, color touch up, or redo. They work with you to cut, color and style my hair exactly how I envision it. I always feel welcomed and leave feeling relaxed. I highly reccomend Taboo Salon to anyone who needs to give their hair some self care.

The owner Crystal is extremely well educated in what she does; she’s one of those stylists that just gets it, and can make magic with whatever you request. I’ve gotten my hair dyed blonde, brunette, cut, and styled numerous times and love it each time I come. The salon is clean, organized, and has a relaxing feel. 10/10 recommend.

A strong welcoming environment. I’ve been going to taboo for 7 years now and with every experience I’ve received nothing but kindness and respect. Crystal makes sure to give clear answers to the questions asked about the coloring and cutting of my hair. She uses great communication with her clients, never a dull moment while visiting. Booking appointments are easy at Taboo as well, a text message restating the date and time of your visit are sent right after booking. I recommend all my friends to Taboo, because my hair always comes out healthier then it was going in.

I take my daughter there for her cuts and it looks awesome every time. Crystal takes the time to keep my daughter engaged and just fills her with so much confidence after each appointment!

Crystal is wonderful, she's always flexible with scheduling should I have an issue. I always feel pampered when I go in for my monthly pedicure. Highly recommend.

Taboo is the perfect place to go. They are all very professional and nice. I was in there to get highlights to get my hair from black to blonde and they did a great job.

I'm giving a 2 star rate out of courtesy. I've only gone here twice for two different services and have no personal experience with some of their other services. One of my services being a full Brazilian wax (my very first one mind you). This was a few years ago but I have recently gotten back into Brazilian waxing with the European Wax Center but would like to share some input with my experience here in retrospect. There was a lot that was weird and undesirable with my experience with this one from the overall process to some of the staffs behavior. Firstly before I even made an appointment and was simply thinking about it, I had a friend who had went to get a massage there one day, I asked him to asked them weather or not they used hard or soft wax (strip wax) for their Brazilians. FyI Soft wax requires the use of a strip while hard wax can be applied directly onto the skin and is then peeled off. The receptionist told my friend they used hard wax. So I make an appointment based off this information. When I go into my appointment they start using the soft wax so that was some major misinformation given to me. The wax was already on me by the time I noticed she went to grab a strip for the wax so I felt like there was no going back. It should be very common knowledge for people in this line of work to know that hard wax is better suited for more delicate areas, thus being a more ideal wax for Brazilians and Bikini waxes. It picks up hair a lot easier and is a lot easier on the skin than soft wax, in fact with hard wax you can wax the same area again as a "clean up strip" to make sure they removed more remaining hair from the first wax in the same area. You cannot go over the same area twice with soft wax because Soft wax adheres to skin more. The soft wax type specially makes delicate areas such as Brazilian services significantly more painful than they need to be and with much more poor quality results as opposed to hard wax Brazilian services. With retrospect from now using hard wax from the European Wax Center, soft wax definitely left more hairs behind and made the process much more painful than it needed to be. European Wax Center also uses more products during the process such as powders and lotions to help wax performance and soothe any irritations or discomfort afterwards and my skin definitely felt a lot better afterwards with them then I was here. In the Taboo salon when I went the waxing area was basically right in front of the the reception area, and the waiting area was right next to the waxing area. I had my sister wait in the waiting area because we were going somewhere else after. As I was somewhat yelping in pain from each strip apparently I could be heard. My sister told me she felt like the staff outside was judging me and told me the receptionist eventually engaged with her and asked her something like "has she even tried just the bikini wax? " And I'd just like to make the statement now, you absolutely do not have to just start off with the bikini lines before getting Brazilians, you can go full Brazilian right of the bat if you want because different areas are going to feel different and more painful than others anyway, no amount of bikini line waxes are going to change that when the time comes. This was their old office but I think I also remembered a sign or some sort of indication for clients to not be loud during waxing as to not disturb other clients in the salon. That was very weird to see in general but also especially from a company that uses soft wax for Brazilians - maybe consider helping your clients out on that front by using better products. If you want or are thinking about getting a full Brazilian, do yourself a favor and just go to the European Wax Center, better wax, better products, better knowledge, less pain, and better care and understanding from staff overall.

I had nothing but a great experience. I had a Brazilian Blowout done there twice and both times and love it.just got a haircut and a color by Crystal. Awesome stylist and she really knows her stuff.
