Tait Farm Harvest Shop, Centre Hall PA

Shopping at Tait Farm has always been a pleasant experience. Whether I'm looking for perennials, annuals, spreads, fresh vegetables, or a special gift, I always drive away feeling as if I've spent my hard-earned money in a meaningful way.

We love Tait Farm. It's our go to for a beautiful Christmas tree ever year and for country decorations in the little gift shop.

This is one of my favorite shops. They have an excellent selection of vegetable, tomato and pepper plants for your garden. They also carry a variety of native plants and pollinators. Also the only place I know in State College that has David Austen roses in the spring. Their shrubs, jams and other products are exceptional. Lastly, they carry beautiful and local pottery and also tablecloths. I like to go here to buy special gifts. Highly recommend.

Everybody was so friendly and helpful even as we sowed chaos by bringing a 3 year old and twin 1 year olds along.

GREAT PLACE. I have been coming here for a few years. I really LOVE the selection of native plants and fresh garden delights. They have fair pricing, local harvest, and sustainable inventory! I have found some real treasures here, and love just coming to look around. I bought all my violas and pansies here this year. They also have incredible seed selections and artisanal seed packs. The local arts are incredible and I love the sense of community here. The staff are all eager to help you out and are very friendly. I make this place a regular stop.:)

I've been doing lots of shopping for fresh veggies and other local products like bread and pasta here lately. Love keeping things fresh and local!

The products at Tait Farm are excellent but DO NOT ORDER ANY MAIL ORDER ITEMS from them. Terrible is actually a compliment. I ordered a gift basket for Christmas on the 8th of December. It was not filled for one full week. No communication to us that they had run out of certain items. No communication that they could partially fill the order and then follow up with what was missing. They used COVID-19 as an excuse but that is not an excuse for lack of communication. Finally, after a number of emails the gift basket was shipped. Now, you would think that because it was their fault that the basket had not been shipped that they would send the package second day or some other expedited delivery? Nope! They sent it regular USPS. The absolutely slowest way to send an item. And they knew it was a Christmas gift. Now, it is still (On December 26) sitting in a Post Office facility in Pittsburgh. The item is supposed to go to the Cleveland area. I notified them of this and they refunded my purchase price. SO WHAT? The gift is still sitting in Pittsburgh. They should have (a first class operation would) immediately sent a duplicate gift basket via overnight to my friends in the Cleveland area. These people must be rookies in the mail order business. Only someone with no experience would treat customers this way. I assume they thought the refund would fix this but the refund fixed nothing!
As I said, their products are good but I am beginning to wonder that if their quality control on expediting and shipping is this bad, how is their quality control in other areas of their business.
I do not typically give bad reviews but in this situation, I wanted present and future customers to know how we were treated by this establishment.

What a wonderful local gem. Everything from plants to produce to products is top notch. If it came from Tait's it's great.

I love the jams they make here! Shopkeep emphasized low sugar added content which I appreciate. Last time I got recipe suggestions and made the puff pastry with jam. They also have some cute cats around the property nd store.

We took our grown daughter and her sweetheart for their first tree and had the nicest experience. We were greeted by a funny, friendly older gentleman and then chose a perfect tree from a field of perfect trees. They have a small selection of interesting ornaments and there was a barn full of puppies!

Wonderful as always. Been going there for years! Wouldn't go anywhere else! Friendly and helpful. Have never had anything but great quality tree's that last the whole season!

I bought my beautiful Christmas tree here. They have a great shape, full, tall but not too big around. Reasonable prices. Pre cut or cut your own and potted trees too. Gorgeous wreaths.

Tait Farm Harvest Shop is a unique shop. It wasn't what I was expecting. I expected to see floral and gift/decorative items. There are some gift/decorative items, a section of Penn State items but they make and sell their own shrubs there. I learned something new! I had never heard of shrubs before. They have quite a variety. I guess if that's what you're into then you'll love Tait's but otherwise it's just another shop. They also sell Christmas trees here!
