Tanglwood Resorts, Hawley PA

We recently spend a weekend at Tanglewood Resorts. Location for the resort is amazing! It is lake view with an easy access to public beach.
We had a very bad time living inside the Resort though. We were given an apartment with no directions how to find it in the location. There were no directions posted at the site and no one from the resort to help. The roads were full of snow and no one was there to clear them. We had to climb up walking with a 10 year old and 2 senior citizens (65+). The lady from the reception was rude to reply when we asked for help. There was a mismatch of key and the apartment that was given to us. When we tried the key somebody opened it from inside. The key and the apartment number mentioned on the envelope were not same.so embarrassing at 11 in the night.
One of the bathrooms had no hot water and we are in middle of winters. The dish washer almost came out while loading. There were no soaps, shampoos and other utilities provided. By the end of the weekend all of us were dying of backaches because the mattresses were the worst of the quality. None of us could sleep well for two nights. The recreation room was closed.
The resort owner or employees showed no interest in listening to our complaints let along resolving. This is by far our worst vacation ever!
Would never recommend this place despite of the fact it's location is prime. I am giving one star because I need to post this review with some star. It is 0 star resort.

Customer service was amazing! Lovely lake view, secluded and peaceful. But, the cleanliness was disgusting. After changing the bedding for check out, I saw a huge dried peed puddle on the sheet. There was splatters of unknown red substance on the walls and curtains. I had a tied loaf of bread that looks like a rodent took a bite of. Absolutely disgusting

It's off season so the pool was closed. But the setting is beautiful. Lots to do in the summer at Lake Wallenpaupaw.

We love going to the lake. Rooms are nice, they have everything we could need. Whirl pools are awesome! They are spacious, and the kitchen is stocked for all our cooking needs. The ladies that run the front office are always friendly and helpful with anything we need. We love Tanglewood!
The only small complaints I have are, the livingroom furniture could use a little updating, as well as the bed linens. Also, the fridges always tend to drip water from the freezer into the fridge constantly. So I am forever cleaning up cold water puddles inside the fridge.

Great location with great lake view and outstanding staff.probably the most welcoming I've encountered in a very long time. Our condo was clean, nicely appointed, and freshly painted.

We were supposed to stay for a week, but ended up leaving on the third day because of a horrendous mold and rot stench coming from the bedroom air conditioner after it started raining. The "resort" staff were totally indifferent, it took an hour for maintenance to show up after we complained, and the tech said he needed to replace THE ENTIRE AC UNIT - but only after suggesting that we stuff a dryer sheet in the vent to cover the smell.

They told us to be back at noon so someone could let them in to do the replacement. We waited 45 minutes after 12 before someone showed up, and they offered to give us a different room - which, when I inspected it, was just as dingy as the first, and had a similar mold smell from the AC there.

When I told the woman working the front desk we were going to leave, all she said was "oh. " No apology, no explanation for the problems, no reaction at all, like they were EXPECTING it to happen.

This place is not maintained at all, old, and if all of that hasn't already put you off it, the wifi in the room was nonexistent too. AVOID THIS RESORT.

Simple place, good accommodations. The Apt is plenty big for 2, and u can do exactly as you’d do at home.
The overall property is nice. Outside pool needs some tending to, the fence especially.
Stairs and hallway need a good power washing.
Otherwise we will most definitely be back next year, as the pricing is extremely affordable.

Very disappointed in the facilities. Very run down dated resort. Retaining wall, rotted trim on doors, bug and cocoon infested patio need lots of tlc. Even the POW flag flying in front of property is flying all shredded. They take no pride in their facilities. Laundry room is a joke. Definitely rundown resort.

Absolutely love Tanglewoods! Their craft room/days are fun for all ages, the views and trails are awesome and really good restaurants near by. If I have 1 complaint it would be The pool, it could use a better filter and cleaning.it was horrible just a little dirty.

Nice apartment with covered balcony.across from lake.nice little walking area across street led to top of dyke.amazing view and benches to sit and take it all in.perfect for laid back types like us

Notified of a New Fee for cleaning received just before arrival. After having a time share fee for nearly 50 years! Found fan in bathroom not clean. Dirty dishes in dishwasher, soap dispenser in it was filled but not opened. An earplug was on floor.
Toilet handle cracked and missing a piece. On a better note, lots of clean towels and lovely view.

The place needs to be fixed up.
The rooms are musty, and doesn't
Smell good. I use the tennis court and there are POT HOLES on the court. The location is good
because it's very close to the
wallenpaupack lake where you could go jet skiing or boat tour.

Nice view of the lake, old but updated spiral staircase to the second floor is very cool retro. Kitchen is granted countertops.

I highly recommend that place. Our apartment was so clean, nice and quiet. Perfect place to walk, relax and be in contact with nature. Great customer service. Many restaurants nearby, short driving and a really convenient Wal-Mart Super Center

I just spend this past weekend here with my family for my son's birthday. We had a wonderful time. Even though it poured, we made the most of the weekend and were very comfortable in the house. The beds were ridiculously comfortable! My kids enjoyed the rec room and visiting the lake. Although the indoor pool was 18 minutes away, it was an easy drive, and the pool and hot tub were fantastic. I would love to go in the summer!

This place is awesome! Newly renovated and clean. The amenities are great now that things are open again. I love the people here and the friends we made. I’ll be back every year for sure! My new favorite vacation spot.
