Craig and Andy were awesome teaching us some blacksmithing in making bottle openers from railroad spikes! Most entertaining safety briefing I've ever had for sure!

My husband and I took the bottle opener class. We had fun making the bottle opener and learning about forging. We highly recommend the class. Craig and Andy gave us lots of tips and encouragement. Great way to spend an afternoon!

Came from the Cleveland area to do the build your own ring experience and it was well worth it. Craig is an awesome host who has no shortage of jokes or knowledge. It is an awesome way to make a truly custom ring. I would highly recommend!

Craig and Andy are great instructors. Craig was very informative about the history and safety of blacksmithing, but he was also very funny. We did the spike bottle opener but hope to come back to do a knife!

Was looking for something different and fun to do and let me tell you, this was both! Craig is a great and funny teacher! 4 hours flew by and I will be back again!

Went to craig for ring making-awesome experience.we drove four hours to his shop and it was worth every minute!

We just attempted the bottle opener class. I can't say enough about how fun a time I had. Craig and Andy put everyone at ease and were very good with explaining and guiding everyone along the way. All safety protocols were covered well. I left with a feeling of accomplishment and had a geat time. Everyone else around me who attended the class seem to have a great time as well.

Great experience! My family and I came from Vermont to take the bottle opener class and had an unforgettable experience. Our group had a range of skill levels from advanced to total beginner and everyone had a great time. Craig is a great teacher with an easy going attitude that made the class super enjoyable and engaging. The only downside is my dad went home and bought a forge right after taking this class:) I would recommend the Barefoot forge for anyone looking to try metal working or just trying to make memories in the Pittsburgh area.

Craig is a fantastic craftsman and the customer service is immaculate! Responsive, helpful, and kind. The ring is beautiful and I can't wait to wear it for the rest of my life after my wedding!

The Barefoot Forge blacksmith class was a blast! It was amazing to spend a few hours to make something out of hot metal. And the teacher was hilarious!

Craig was extremely pleasant to work with when me and my fiancé created our wedding bands with him. We drove down to Pittsburgh from Altoona and stayed overnight and would absolutely do it again. Craig provided the right amount of guidance without being overbearing, and made the entire day fun. If you are thinking about creating your own ring, I would highly recommend doing it with Craig and getting the experience of a lifetime!

I found about Craig through a mutual acquaintance so I gave him a follow on instagram. When it came time for me to need a ring there wasn’t much question on where to go.
This experience was top notch. I drove from out of state and it was worth every mile. We made a beautiful hybrid 14kt gold and palladium ring.
I was involved in every aspect from design to forging. If this is something you are thinking about, you should just commit. You won’t regret it.

Fun experience whether you are interested to try it for fun or are seriously considering picking it up as a hobby. Craig was funny and gave a good rundown of blacksmithing safety, tools and processes beforehand and after giving some demonstrations took us all through the process for the introductory bottle opener class. He kept checking in with everyone throughout to assist. I would recommend this to others!

My partner and i went to make his ring and it was a truly amazing experience. Craig was charismatic, knowledgeable, and skilled. He walked us through how everything would work in the beginning, and them demoed each step on a sample piece so we were doing everything possible for our ring by ourselves.
He created an unforgettable experience that resulted in an incredible ring that looks absolutely perfect. I cannot recommend this experience more highly

What a blast! Craig runs this with very small classes, there were three of us in this class, we learned how to use various welding tools, spent a lot of time on safety, and really welded a lot of different pieces of metal in different positions and angles. You don't need to bring anything except making sure you have long pants on and a long shirt, he provides all the tools, safety equipment and metal that you will be welding. This is one of the most unique experiences and gives you a skill set that you could expand on after.

Came here to create a wedding band, and the experience was amazing. Craig was an awesome teacher, super fun to talk to, and extremely welcoming. I knew it would look cool after seeing pictures on the website, but the real thing turned out so much better than I could have imagined.

This was amazing! My husband and I went here to forge our wedding rings. We have been married over a year and never got proper rings for eachother so we decided to do this. Both the experience and having rings we handmade is so special compared to picking rings out of a case in a chain store. We drove up to Pittsburgh from Virginia which was a good 6 hours, but it was SO worth it! Neither of us had any experience forging, Craig was so great about walking us through the steps. He explained everything, showed us how to use the tools, and let us do it. He took tons of pictures and videos of the us working and our progress! It's surreal watching a block of metal turn into your wedding ring in just a day of your hard work! The forge was inviting and Craig is a great guy to have conversations with while working. If you're even considering this, DO IT! My husband and I now have one of a kind, gorgeous rings!
