Lived here for a year. Took 1 month for them to fix my leaking ceiling. That’s all I’ll say

I lived at the Brix for ten years. Both excellent and average experiences through several management companies. The last few years were the best after Hudson Companies took over both ownership and management of the property. Estevan and his crew were responsive and attentive to resident needs. The property was well maintained and, important to an old dude like me, quiet after Hudson had been in charge for a while. Under Hudson management I can recommend a great in town living experience. And, not to mention the fact that everything is so convenient. You almost don’t need a car. Lol. A bit of an exaggeration.

This was a great spot to call home for the past year. The convenience and lifestyle here is unmatched - you'll be within walking distance to a gym, a pharmacy, a grocery store, countless restaurants and bars, the waterfront, a rock climbing gym, and some shops. I didn't have any noise complaints and the views from the upper floors in particular can be quite beautiful. It's expensive, but if you pay for a parking garage spot, you won't have to worry about the rain/snow/frost either since the garage is connected to the building. I'll definitely miss my time here!

I have lived at the Brix for a little bit over a year and have had a great experience. The Southside Works offers a lot of options within walking distance for various needs (food, fitness, entertainment) and the area continues to be developed. The building itself and the loft style units are really nice. This is the fourth place I’ve lived at in Pittsburgh and it is by far the best one. Rob has also done a great job in addressing the few issues I’ve had with my unit. I would highly recommend living here.

I had an incredible experience living in the Brix! Estevan and Derek were always so helpful, promptly addressing any concerns I had and making sure everything ran smoothly. The location is unbeatable, with convenient access to grocery store, gym, restaurants, and public transportation. I highly recommend this complex to anyone seeking a hassle-free and convenient living experience.

We have been living in the Brix for almost 9 months now. We have now dealt with multiple maintenance issues that never get responded to appropriately.

We have currently been dealing with a water leak that has been ongoing for almost 3 weeks now. After 2.5 weeks the water dripping has finally stopped but we are now left with extensive water damage, mold growing on our walls, a musty smell to our apartment, and damage to the electrical system that prevents our use of lights in both bathrooms. This forces us to shower and use the bathroom using a camping lantern. We have tried being understanding through this process but management has left us in the dark and given no updates or plans to fix our issues. We feel that we have been taken advantage of.

We pay $2400 a month for rent here and for our 3 week inconvenience were provided a $25 dollar Amazon gift card (essentially 1% off of rent for 1 month).

Rent here at your own risk. If you are unlucky enough to have a maintenance issue then you will have to deal with a massive headache that takes weeks to get fixed.

Came for the location, stayed for the people.

My girlfriend and I toured a number of apartments in Southside. Many of them showing glamorous pictures online. However, when we toured this apartment something just felt right. Lauren, the leasing agent at the time, made us feel very comfortable and at home. As many other residents can attest, Derrick (Mr. D), takes very good care of the building and treats everybody like family. Unfortunately, Lauren has since then moved on to another position and Mr. D is retiring soon.

While we haven’t had the pleasure to interact more with the other management folks, overall we’ve had a pleasant experience living here.

Lived here for one full year. It’s a great building with all the amenities you could ask for. The houses are spacious and the common areas are truly top notch. I wouldn’t live here if it were not for Derek, who gives the entire place a nice human touch and goes above and beyond to take care of all the residents. The management team is good and cooperative and maintenance requests are usually looked after promptly. Buses 48 and 75 keep you connected with rest of the city and come right outside the building.

My only complaints have been that 3 minute fitness is not a part of the facility and somehow the advertisement always looks like it is. In fact, my apartment shared wall with this gym and man they blast music at full volume starting at 6AM and then again in the evening which was frankly very irritating and the management did nothing about it despite several complaints. The in-house gym in the building is truly a disaster and they haven’t upgraded it even a tiny bit. It’s my opinion that at such steep rent prices, a gym is a must have. For any future residents, I would suggest not taking an apartment that shares walls with 3 minute fitness. I also hope that either more amenities be provided (imo rooftop and gym) or prices be adjusted to make them more competitive.
