They recently switched to another internet provider, and now the internet access just randomly goes away, there is no connection. I am in important meetings and the internet just disconnects. Or even when I'm playing games at night. I don't know why they switched, the older internet provider worked perfectly. I did submit a complaint at Pavlov Media for internet, but the management should also take care of it as we do pay for it.

STAY AWAY! This housing company gaslit me and my roommates into paying bogus cleaning charges. The management is incompetent, they do not care about their residents, they will find sneaky ways to make you pay more. If you are scheduled to move in here make sure to be super detailed on your move-in checklist it is literally the only power you have against their tyranny. If you need cheap housing look into Vairo village, alight, or state college collective.
PS: I'm sure this place has had a couple happy residents but do not full-heartedly trust all their positive reviews. I lived there and knew many neighbors. Nobody I met had a 5 star experience at the Bryn. Furthermore, the office gives free food and gift cards for simple quick reviews. Hence the half-hearted high ratings you can find on GOOGLE.

It is my second year at Penn state. I just moved in to the Bryn! My apartment was dirty and I had to clean it since management did not took any actions.now after 1 week, I am asked to pay a 200$ bill for a water leakage for my bidet installation. They don't care about resident comfort. They don't listen.they just care about charging more and paying less. Worst decision I ever took. Avoid the place. It is overrated.

This apartment complex is the worst in State College and it’s not even close. People at the front desk are rude and have no idea what they are doing. Don’t bother making a complaint because they will dodge the question the entire time you live there. The rooms are dirty and smell from the day you get your keys. There is mold in most of the rooms and there will definitely be something that randomly “breaks” within the first month. The pool is never open and they spend about half the year cleaning it! It does not let you give a zero star review but that is what this place deserves.

I wouldn’t let my worst enemy stay here…

Longtime renter here- I love how quickly the maintenance crew responds to issues, and that the pet policy let's me have both of my cats in my unit at a great price!

The apartment itself is fine for a college apartment. Appliances and amenities are good. The problem is that the management is comprised of a bunch of horrible, power-tripping, rude, unreliable, and negligent people. So many times, the management would say they would do something or fix something and then never do it. We made a huge effort to clear out and clean the apartment when we moved out, but we were hit with an outrageous cleaning bill a few days after. We contacted the management asking for proof of the "damages" they claimed we had made, but of course, we get no response. For any future renters, ALWAYS TAKE PICTURES of the apt when moving in and when moving out, do not let them gaslight you into paying them, and don't trust the amount of fake 5 star reviews they have on here.

Internet will go out with every thunderstorm. I remember one summer where every week the internet would shut-off for hours at a time, sometime another one would happen hours later. The apartment itself is filthy and will require manual cleaning by the tenants when move-in begins. Living in this apartment complex has taken a strain on my body, one summer while living here I started to develop a massive number of hives every time I would try to sleep. Eventually, one of my roommates discovered there was mold in the bathroom that may have been causing it and we had to scrub the bathtub to remove it.

However, if it was just the filth and unsanitary conditions, even considering I may have developed hives by living here, I would have given this apartment complex a 3/5, but the the internet shutting off spontaneously with basically the strike of lightning, during a time where most of my job interviews and classes were held online, is a utter disgrace. This problem was never fixed during the entire period of my stay. Maybe the owner, who will no doubt respond to this review below should consider fixing that problem especially during a time where the digital world has become more and more important for sustaining a living.

Update: As you can see, it does not get better. They don't care about bad reviews. Some businesses refuse to change.

I’ve lived at the Bryn for a little over 6 months now, and it has been great! The receptionists are responsive and always ready to help and I’ve never had a bad experience with them at all. The maintenance people are also nice and I haven’t had a bad experience with them either. I would like to say that the package room situation at the current moment is not ideal.however, during the summer they don’t give any notice prior to coming in, they have contractors at 8 am no notice peeling up the carpet and hammering away at the floor. The wifi tends to cut out when it’s raining and because it’s state college that happens a lot.

There used to be a package room but the system is broken and they now have all packages stored in the employee section, which means that if the office is closed and you really need your package you cannot get it anymore. They give you a bus pass to get to and from Campus, parking and visitor parking is spacious. It isn’t luxury but it is definitely worth the price compared to other places around here.

This place is disappointing. I live in an “upgraded” apartment and this place feels like it’s falling apart. We currently have three huge holes in the ceiling due to water damage (from a leaking pipe) that were never fixed. Our bathrooms constantly grow mold, although we make a huge effort to air the bathrooms out after showers. Windows are drafty and it’s always freezing. Additionally, when we arrived in August, NO cleaning was done. There was trash everywhere. Staff is also extremely rude.
A maintenance man even told me to look into living somewhere else next year for a price not much higher than I pay now. I would avoid signing a lease here if possible. Don’t be fooled by the model, your apartment will look NOTHING like it.

Overall, my experience at the Bryn has been really good. If you ever need help from maintenance, they’re on top of responding to you within half an hour if even that. The apartments are definitely much more spacious than other places around State College. The only complaint I have is that there’s no quick way to lug all your stuff to your apartment if you’re on the third floor so unloading groceries can be difficult.

The Bryn is an absolutely awful apartment to live in. It is cheap but not even worth the money you pay. I have a list of complaints. Firstly, the apartments were so dirty and old, the appliances were falling apart or just didn't work half of the time. The kitchen appliances were so old that they were slanted, meaning you couldn't set down pots or pans flat. The dishwasher and dryer just didn't work most of the time. Secondly, the way they handle the utility bill is a straight up scam. Because they outsource it to a third party, if your bill is insanely high, mine was 3 times as much as everyone else's, they refused to help at all, claiming it was not their issue. We had our gas heating turned off 24/7, with it never on for some months and our gas bill came out to be almost 200$ for the whole apartment. When I confronted them about this multiple times, they always dodged the issue and shifted the blame. In the end it was impossible to get fixed because they refused to help. Another complaint is that the management decided that they would rip up and replace all of the flooring of the apartment when I & my other roommates were still living in the apartment, which caused a huge amount of stress and was generally a nuisance. They also decided that the week before finals was the best time to cut our internet service to replace it, another major inconvenience. The walls and ceilings were also super thin, I would hear the tenants above me stomping every day until almost 1 am. The only good thing was the maintenance staff was quick and professional.
Overall, I would not recommend this apartment complex to anyone. The cheap rent is not worth the hassle and frustration of dealing with these issues. The management is unresponsive and unprofessional, the appliances are old and falling apart, and the utility bill handling is a straight up scam. Save yourself the trouble and find a better place to live.

The Bryn has been really nice.it’s in an amazing location, I love the walk I take with my dog past the pool and volleyball court while the sun is out and the staff and maintenance are really outgoing. 10/10 tbh

I have lived here for 4 years under different management companies. The current one is my favorite for their reliability and communication.

I encourage residents to stop by the clubhouse most mornings to say hi to the staff and have some complimentary snacks/coffee.

I have enjoyed the convenience of a free CATA bus pass to campus and downtown. I also love the proximity to Walmart, Best Buy, Staples, and an emergency clinic. An easy, 5-10minute walk.

The property is always well maintained and the rooms are spacious with new furniture. The reason this review only has 4 stars is because there have been recurring issues with the package system, network provider, and appliances (fridge, dishwasher, washer, dryer, and oven).

The Luxer package notifier has stopped working every semester. And when we swapped network providers halfway through this past semester, there was no WiFi/ethernet for an entire week while each building underwent the shift.

While some of the appliances may be outdated, the good news is that maintenance is very quick to replace and repair broken items, although sometimes the "fix" is only temporary.

It's probably more expensive than most places, but worth the rent in my opinion.

I’ve been living at the Bryn for almost a year now. For the most part, everything has been good. I enjoy the amenities available such as the volleyball, basketball, and tennis court. I also like the gym. It’s nice not having to pay for a membership as you would at another one around here. I haven’t been able to use the pool or hot tub yet because of repairs, but I’m excited to when they are finished. The only thing that’s ever been an issue was the internet being slow at times, which they’ve fixed with an upgrade. Overall, I feel safe and happy living here!

So far, i can’t say there’s much to complain about living here at the Bryn.the staff is incredibly sweet and i have truly enjoyed my time staying here. The extra amenities are also a huge bonus.

They incentivize tenants leaving reviews so if there’s more than a 1 star rating you can assume a broke college student was just exploited by office staff.

This place is an actual hell when there is so much better alternatives in the same (& cheaper) price range available.

Moldy bathrooms, weird maintenance men that have made women tenants feel unsafe, and an overall lack of cleanliness and care.

I will say the rooms were spacious af and having ur own bathroom may never come again until you purchase a home later in life, but just look elsewhere the model unit is a scam

Please don’t rent here your better off at Vairo village seriously!

I love living at the Bryn. Maintenance works SO fast compared to other apartment complexes in State College. Office, gym, pool and other amenities are such a plus

It’s a nice place to live and is pretty clean. Except the walls are super thin and I can hear the upstairs neighbors stomping at all hours of the night.

The Bryn staff has been so helpful in navigating college life, while making it a community! There are so many awesome staff that help navigate any issue we may have with the internet, maintenance, or leading! I am so thankful to live in such a positive atmosphere:)
