The Clay Studio reviews
8I have been buying The Small Favors pieces for Years. My friends Jim Fulton and Eric Rymshaw our our good friends.
Just finished an event at The Class Studio- staff and teachers are amazing; they kept a group of nine year olds occupied for over an hour throwing clay on a wheel. The event space is magnificent as well.
My experience here was absolutely mesmerizing I was there for a wedding that they hosted for the first time The event space was beautiful The rooftop area just AMAZING As guest we were able to still walk through so we were able to see all the BEAUTIFUL crafts that were on display
We had a great time via the v-day pottery session. The staff was friendly, the food was great, and they even had the Super Bowl game streaming for us. My only suggestions is for there to be a printout of the steps. At the beginning there is a demonstration, however a more inclusive approach would be to have laminated step by step instructions (5-10 steps) with pictures. Adults who are on the spectrum, or have ADHD, anxiety, short term memory etc may have a hard time following. Though the staff are there to help it can be overwhelming to keep asking for help for the next step. Also I don’t recall an option to request for accommodation, even this can be overwhelming to ask. Many of the other couples felt this idea would also be helpful as they also forgot the steps as time was ticking. So hopefully this friendly suggestion is included for future workshops / date nights so everyone’s learning style can be considered during the allotted time frame, and the “fun” aspect of the activity can commence. Overall we did have fun, though initially a lot of time was wasted trying to recall from memory what the steps were. We are aware they have classes to purchase for extended lessons, which is nice, but during the actual date night it would have been an efficient use of time to have a print out, or a short tutorial video streaming on one of the screens replaying the steps (or even a short TikTok!) We would be more inclined to purchase more classes if future events are more accommodating and inclusive of all learning abilities for date nights/single event workshops. We would hate to waste time and money. Overall good time, but not an efficient use of time for everyone.
My kid loved their summer camp! Perfect activity for a creative kid. The teachers and staff were caring and nice.
My kids did summer art (claymation) camp here. They both really enjoyed it. The space is beautiful (really nice) but the people are even better (kind, supportive). I definitely recommend it.
I am waiting to pick up pottery from the front desk. No acknowledgement for at least 5 minutes while a staff person is talking on the phone. The staff need to do better.
I took a beginner class here and loved it. It's really a reasonable price considering that in the beginner classes you get unlimited use of clay and can come in anytime during the open studio hours. I will be back again to take the same class again to improve on the skills already learned. I can't wait for their new building to be built which should be an impressive space to showcase the talent of their resident artists and provide amazing classrooms.
