One of my favorite family owned and operated places to eat. Small town atmosphere with home cooked style. Convenient just off I-80 with big truck parking on back

If I could give this place a 0 I would! I’m a trucker so I travel from state to state, this restaurant was across the street from the pilot I was parked at for the night, haven’t had home cooking in a while so I decided to give it a try. I walk in and see no one that looks like me (all caucasian) but I’m a loving person so I don’t think nothing of it. I was seated with no words just a hand gesture to come sit. I was NOT TENDED TO like the other patrons of this establishment not once was I asked was everything ok or how was the food. I seen the staff constantly going table to table asking “how’s everything” “would you like rolls” “anything I can get you” not once did anyone including my waitress stop by to see how my service was going. The whole time they were all walking past me! Like as if I didn’t exist! Once it was time for my check I was trying to get I had to wait until I put my plates stacked and at the edge of the table for my waitress to just bring my check over! I grabbed my check and went to the register were I waited for an elderly lady to not even ask how my service was or let alone speak at all. Gave her my card and filled out my receipt with a tip of ZERO DOLLARS! And she acted as if I was in the wrong while the whole time I was ignored and not thought of! It’s 2023 to be racist is crazy and also I’m a trans man so maybe that could be the issue as well. I hate to think that I’m a place where I was willing to spend my money I was treated so carelessly and rude. Further more the food was bland and the shrimp was not clean. Even though i was treated with such disgust I still wish for your business to prosper and maybe the next person of color or the LGBT community will be treated with respect kindness and dignity

As local Guy and Family up the Road ;) This place has been Puttin the Brothers pizza up the Road to Shame. I love the Breakfast on Sundays, I love the Dinner some nights when I'm home, i love the lunch Always when blessed enough. It's just not truck stop Food even though its Close to the truck stops.it's our local Communities Food place and good Eatin Place. So I'm very fortunate they take pride in the Food and the Service is Always top Notch if you have ever had a Bad experience here.just take it lightly Maybe those lady's and gentlemen had a bad moment in a day. Because they are providing such amazing food.

Nice little place. It’s looks like a local hole in the wall but food seem home cooking. If squeamish, Don’t look back into the kitchen while standing at the cash register. I love places like this. A must try! Oh no pics of the lettuce salad or dinner rolls. Heck I started to eat the main course before I thought of taking a pic.

Amazing food. We tried french toast and veg omelets. The quantity was amazing.

I've eaten here a few times now. Truck stop across the street and easy walk over. Clam Strip dinner and the porkchop dinner is very good. The food portions are large and the the sides are good too. Come hungry beacuse you won't want to miss dessert. They have a very large dessert selection. Sundaes, brownies, ice cream and Pies.

Staff is polite, attentive and knows the menu. Shirley served me today. Very nice person, good server, who brought me another delicious clam strip dinner.

Staff are friendly and helpful. The desserts were amazing and I came back four days in a row for a different slice of pie each night. I also had the worst chicken pot pie of my life here. The men's room is a disaster.

Service was excellent. Waitresses were friendly and attentive. Food came fairly quickly and was all good. Bathrooms are fairly disgusting. I was glad I used them after I ate. As far as the service and food, very good.

The people that eat there are friendly as well. The food is good A perfect rest place for those traveling.

The steak was okay and the picture shown is how the medium is cooked. The mashed potatoes were okay. The cucumber salad was cucumbers and onions. The side salad was a little wilted and browning on some. A steak knife didn't come with the steak. Lemons were mushy, not fresh. Mini strawberry shortcake ice cream cake was disappointing, had no strawberries, just the flavor. Prices were decent.

Very nice place. As a visitor, I could've thought to ask not to overcook the eggs in my omelette, but I can't complain. Large portions. Delicious food. Excellent service.

Homemade food that was really good. Good spot for a good meal on your travels. Only complaint is the bathroom could use some upgrades. I would definitely eat there again.

Excellent food with generous portions. We love the employees, everyone is treated like family. My husband loves their pie so much, he has a piece there and a piece to go.

Stopped on our way to NY for something to eat. We were not disappointed. Had mushroom Swiss burger with sweet potato fries. Jucy burger and plenty of mushrooms. Finished the meal with rice pudding. Altogether a great experience.

I recently visited this restaurant and had a mixed experience. The staff members were charming and attentive, creating a welcoming atmosphere that added to the overall dining experience.
However, I have to mention that the food was good. While it wasn't outstanding, it also wasn't disappointing.
One aspect that significantly impacted my experience was the cleanliness of the men's bathroom. Unfortunately, it was in a poor state and appeared to have been neglected, however the women’s bathroom was clean.
Despite these shortcomings, the charming staff did their best to make the dining experience enjoyable. With some improvements in the food quality and cleanliness of the facilities, this restaurant has the potential to provide a more consistent and satisfying experience.
Overall, I would rate this restaurant as average. While the staff was delightful, the food was just okay, and the state of the men's bathroom was subpar. If you're looking for a place with friendly staff, it may be worth a visit, but keep in mind the room for improvement in other aspects.

Their Reuben was really good. The restaurant is a local favorite, and I can see why it is! A ton of comfort food items in the menu (but they do have light entrees and salads)
Try it out, you won't be disappointed.
