I just celebrated my birthday on December 10th, at the Event Spot. My experience from Ms. Vanessa to the hall was wonderful! I will definitely, have another event. Thank you, Event Spot!

The Event Spot (Vanessa) served as my wedding officiant. She did an amazing job. She arrived early a plus in my book. She was very professional and looked great in her officiant robe. I’d highly recommend her services. This is my 2nd time using her services and will continue to do so.

We had an event this past Friday and it was literally a Spare of the moment thing. Vanessa was very accommodating. The venue was very nice and her process went very smoothly. Everything that she had informed me over the phone was in her contract and website. Although, I had a few questions and I called her regarding it, she was very prompt in returning my calls and did not appear as if I was being annoying because some of the questions I asked was in the contract but I just wanted to clarify. I want to thank Vanessa for allowing us to have our event there within a week notice. If you are looking for a beautiful intimate venue this is the place to go.

If you would love to add extra stress on top of any event you are planning then this is the way to go.
For starters, the owner of this business doesn’t know how to communicate to people without giving them an attitude. Even a few days before the event I called this lady VANESSA to confirm that I had to bring my own ice & make sure everything was on deck for the time I needed to be but she answered the phone after business hours anyways then proceeded to just be rude when all I wanted to ask was about ice. She then proceeded to talk to me like I didn’t read the entire 10 page contract (btw could use some proof reading) but all I wanted to ask was about bringing ice.
The day of my event I asked if the decorator can go inside the event 10-15 mins a little earlier because she was setting up the whole space with just 1 helper. As common courtesy a normal person would say yes because of all the running around a party planner does during the day of, however VANESSA was not able to do so without charging an extra $100 because she has no common courtesy. My attendees started helping me clean up the hall an hour before the time we had to close the space but we still got kicked out in the most rude way & still got charged an extra $75 because I didn’t shut the lights in time.
The next day I tried calling to tell her what had happened but she then proceeded to curse me out over the phone.
In all, the service this lady provides is not worth it. The space is really small too.

I had my baby shower here last night and it was thrown by my best friend. The owner was very rude to her when she reached out with questions as well as to me when we spoke at the end of my shower. I would not recommend this hall at all. The customer service sucks as someone else in the reviews has mentioned. We left at 9: 33, we had the hall until 9: 30, we just had to finish sweeping and was told to exit the facility immediately (she was watching via her cameras).

Vanessa's 55th bday celebration was lit. Space looked phenomenal. I enjoyed this night. Definitely check out LamarrTodd on Facebook and Instagram @lamarrtodd. The event spot was all that check it out.

I held my daughter's birthday party at The Event Spot a few weeks ago.we used The Event Spot for both the rental space and for decorations. While at the start of my experience, I was excited to be supporting a black owned business, by the end I was truly disappointed. This is a full review of the good, the bad and the ugly. The Good - the place was the perfect size for our 30-40 people/kids. Nice decor - dance floor, chairs, and bathroom. Location is easy to get to and lots of street parking for guests. The final decorations came together very nicely although if I could have had more communication with the owner I would have changed a few things to make it to my perfection. Which brings me to The Bad - the customer service. I found the owner to be difficult to communicate with and often left our conversations not feeling good about my investment. She seemed offended if you asked her questions and put too much emphasis on how many years she's been in the industry. The Ugly - during our event we saw multiple roaches. This put a complete overcast over the event as they showed up in the area where we were serving food. On top of the fact that vermin in a place that allows food being totally unacceptable, you are required to pay a cleaning fee in addition to your rental fee. And back to the customer service side of things - when I brought the roaches up to the owner, she minimized the issue as a part of doing business in Philly - I disagree. Based on other reviews several others seemed to have received better than we did so take that into account. This was my true and honest experience and I would not recommend.

I had a demonstration at the event spot and everything was beautiful. Special shot out to Ms. Simpson for her help and for the use of her lovely venue.

I used the Event Spot on October 4th and I must say that I was satisfied. The hall was clean and a nice size, there was parking right out front, and most importantly I found Vanessa to be very professional and down to earth. I’d definitely recommend this to space to others.

This is the best event spot in Philadelphia I’ll contact them last minute for my back drop they help me I mean she was so concerned and she made sure that I got my back drop On time I definitely would recommend them for parties business etc. Excellent customer service reliable customer service thank you so much you save my event?

Great small intimate venue for a meeting or social gathering. I was envited to attend as second photographer for the evening. With 22 occupancy worked out well. Any more than 30 would be a tight room.

I must say that my sister Vanessa and The Event Spot team helped make my father's 85th birthday COViD appropriate drive-by celebration the most memorable occasion for my entire family! A super duper true professional.

I had my baby shower Event just hours ago at the The Event Spot, and everything turned out great. Vanessa was easy to work with the communication was great, just wish I had her do my decorations. But over all everything turned out fabulous, and I would highly recommend this place for any events. Also with the Covid she accommodated me and my family. Awesome!

I had a wonderful experience working with Vanessa in throwing a 60th birthday party for my dad. The size of the space was great for our guests and provided all the amenities we needed. She delivered on everything I asked for and was very responsive even when I decided last minute to use her decorating services for the event. This relieved me of all anxiety and allowed me to walk into a beautifully decorated space on the day of the party. Plus she's nice! I would highly recommend for your next event.

My husband and I had our baby shower here last night and when we arrived for our event everything was so beautifully decorated, the hall was a great size, and the set up was just perfect. We are truly happy we chose The Event Spot! Thank you Ms. Vanessa for all your help and guidance you truly helped make our day special!
