Nice atmosphere and tasty food to pair! A good place to stop if you're in the York area, especially coming or going through the east part.

The shop is very beautiful. The atmosphere of the old building is not old style at all. The tables are large and the service is excellent. It's a little salty.

This place never disappoints. The food is always freshly made, hot and scrumptious. The staff is always nice. Highly recommend.

Great place! The building takes me to past years. The food is just delicious, if You want to have something local better go there. The service is excellent!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The First Post, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish! The menu offers a fantastic selection of dishes, and everything my friend and I ordered was delicious. That included the cream of crab soup, Caesar salad with grilled chicken, and crab and corn fettuccine. The service was also impeccable, and our server was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, providing excellent recommendations. I can't wait to return!

Reserved a room from 5 -7: 30. Rude hostess told us we have to try to be out by 7: 15 because the room was booked by another party beginning at 7: 30. Huh? She said they need time to clean up. So why not schedule accordingly instead of telling people they need to be out before their booked time? Makes no sense. But our waitress was AWESOME! I wish I remembered her name.

It's just an all-around fantastic place for a date night or special occasion. Reservations are a must! This is a very popular spot for great reasons!

Visited twice while staying nearby. Remarkably good service (by two different staff) in a beautifully-built old building. Proportions and salt could be toned down just a bit, but flavor and choices are just right. Their lager is what beer should be.

Visited this place today. Sat at the bar right in front of the bartender. I patiently waited for him to finish his conversation with a coworker about his girlfriend. A group of four walked in well after I sat down. The bartender turned around, grabbed menus, and headed down to the other end of the bar. He never even acknowledged that I was sitting right in front of him. I just walked out.

Absolutely the most beautiful venue. Our waiter (Cain) was the best and most friendly waiter ever! We will definitely be back.

Gorgeous restaurant with laid back atmosphere serving great pub fare in a relaxing setting.

After looking at reviews, we decided on The First Post while visiting York, PA. Fantastic history on this beautiful property that is so tastefully decorated and appointed.

Waiter Erick gave us a brief history of the building and provided stellar service during our visit. This is a great place to sit back, enjoy the setting, have a great meal without feeling rushed.

We opted for the Crab Cake BLT. It was served on a large, thin and crispy English muffin. It was sheer perfection. Order it, believe me, you will be glad you did. Perfectly and artfully prepared, it was hot, fresh and delicious.

Also ordered was the Filet Mignon, served rare. It was also visually very appealing and every bite was mouth watering.

If ever in York, PA, stop in, ask for Erick and enjoy your evening.

Always great food and service. The surf n turf is amazing. Steak cooked perfectly, and the lobster was tender. Always a great place to eat.

A very nice and relaxing atmosphere, paired with many delicious menu choices. Everyone in my party was very satisfied with their meal. Definitely, a more office casual or mid-formal attire feel.
