The Horse Soldier reviews
19I have frequented the Horse Soldier many times and have found the staff indifferent to the shoppers. I have also purchased several rifles from them, and while I can attest to the authenticity ou f the guns, the salesman had no information, or interest in the the sales. I'm talking 8K purchases.
Picked up a WW1 artillery fuse today. Not the first thing I've bought there and surely not the last. I always have a good time and good experience.
Incredible inventory. The entire staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I have been dealing with them for several years. They answer all my questions. Thankyou for all the assistance you have given me.
Just as good as a museum! Was last here 22 years ago when I was 14 and this place stuck on my mind. Recently stopped back and wish I had more time and money to spend here. Definitely worth a stop! Skip some of the same tourist shops and stop here.
They purchased an old musket from us and offered a fair assessment and price. Done all by correspondence. Would love to stop by and meet in person one day.
Best darn place to buy deal or just to get some knowledge on Civil War militaria. Quality and original militaria found here. I recommend this place whole heartedly.
Rented the upstairs apartment for our family trip. Very clean, everything you could think of and more. Paper towels, clean linens and towels/washrags. Dish soap, Laundry detergent and fabric softener provided. Washer and dryer included as well. TP well stocked, all dishes, cups, silverware, and cookware supplied. Very clean. Loft upstairs with a pullout and airbed. Kids loved the loft! One queen sized bedroom with closet, other bedroom is 2 twins I believe. "master room" has tv in it. Tv up in loft as well. Totally love it and will be using again!
The Horse Soldier is an amazing company both in integrity and inventory! Your best stop in Gettysburg!
Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. A wide array of items. The lay-a-way plan helps greatly when on a budget.
EXCELLENT staff to deal with. Was helped with everything and extremely professional. Love this place.
They have 2 of my all time favorite guns. An m1 garand and a m1 carbine. Lots of guns. Lots of knives and lots of historic items. Pretty cool place
You could spend a lot of time in here and still not look at everything. It's a great place with a solid reputation.
They have some really cool stuff here! My only complaint is everything seemed to be way over market value. Also, anything and EVERYTHING on the battlefields around Gettysburg is 100% ABSOLUTELY not allowed to be kept if you happen to find something. No relic hunting allowed at all and I have to wonder if any of this has been illegally acquired.
Awesome store! It's like a museum where you can buy the exhibits, so much history in one spot! From original muskets from 1808, to German Stalhelms, and everything in between, you'll find something for every history buff in this down-right amazing place! Will definitely be back!
Great service and awesome store, everyone was friendly and very informative. They will have my business for a long time.
Very unprofessional. Made a two hour round trip to see something that was wrongly described. When I arrived they were very pleasant. When I looked at the item it was worthless, rifling was completely pitted! A total waste of time. When I brought this to their attention they shrugged their shoulders and said it was on the seller from New York. No sir it is not! It’s on you guys to inspect the items you are selling and check the description is accurate. Beware of them.
Excellent collection of classic firearms and accoutrements for sale. It's almost like a museum. They shave large numbers of used books.
If you like history or collecting historic gear this is the place to be all of which that I'd had seen was original and while pricey it's very hard to find this stuffif you're in Gettysburg I'd recommend going there if they're open
Great shop. Went looking for a very specific item and they had just what I wanted. The staff are very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. Huge selection of antique firearms, bayonets, and other artifacts. Pretty fair prices on some uncommon finds. History buffs, be prepared to spend some time here, history and story telling abound!
