I was completely informed of everything that they were doing and was made feel very comfortable through the whole process. Joel answered any question I had and was a huge help because I had to travel for over an hour to get there. I highly recommend the Lasik Vision institute and would do it again in a heartbeat. I am so excited to be able to see without my glasses or contacts! 10/10 experience!

I am currently 5 days post surgery, and wanted to give a thorough review in 3 stages:

PRE-OP: 2/5
SURGERY: 5/5
POST-OP: 1/5

So given that, a "3 star" is generous. I decided to get lasik after a friend recently got his at another institution. I mostly went with this site because it was local and was able to fit into my tight schedule.

PRE-OP:
The virtual screening is pretty good. It was hosted on Zoom, so keep that in mind if you don't have access a webcam or internet. Since this institute has multiple locations, they can't give you site or doctor-specific information. You are given a price quote that is deemed "All-inclusive" on this initial Zoom call, or so I thought (more on that in a bit). You then are scheduled an in-person pre-op visit by both the institute and a 3rd-party Eye doctor. Unfortunately for me, this pre-op visit at the institute was postponed (at their request) until the day OF the surgery. It was at that time I was offered "Contoura Lasik" which I was advised as being more accurate and potentially resulting in a sharper image. The cost as of this review was $300 per eye. It was poor timing to be dropped this info 20 minutes before the procedure was to happen, and I had no time to really even research it outside of looking at a large poster in the office. I asked why it wasn't mentioned on the initial Zoom call, and was told that not all locations offer it. That to me is unacceptable; the initial consult knows where you would be having the procedure and can easily know which offices offer it or not. I highly recommend the institute re-evaluate how they communicate this, as it just seems like a high-pressure up-sell.

SURGERY:
The procedure went over well. It's pretty fast (~10 min). Having an operation on your eye can be a scary, but the numbing drops really make it painless, at least during the surgery.

POST-OP:
At the facility, I had to sign all these documents when I arrived, including one that said all the post-op procedures were explained to you. The institute should NOT be providing this until you get the actual explanation, which didn't happen until about 25 min before the procedure. I got the info though so no harm no foul right? Debatable. They provide a bag with some post-op care items: wrap-around sunglasses, steroid drops, a few daily eye drops, and a "night mask".
You're advised to wear a night-mask for 2 weeks when you sleep, however the actual mask is literal garbage. When I tried to use it, the mask would either slip upwards onto my eyelids at the slightest of movements (e.g.: Yawning). I attempted to pull it down further on my face, but the poor construction applied too much pressure to my nose. My wife actually attempted to modify the mask by removing some of the foam, but that still didn't help.
You are prescribed a steroid drop to be used four times a day. Additionally, they advise using preservative-free eye drops 4-6 times a day. They give you just a handful of these PF eye-drops, and you have to go out and get yourself more. When I went to see the 3rd-party Eye doctor for a post-op checkup, he was taken aback that it was only recommended to use those 4-6 times a day, and advised to use one an hour, as the surface of your eye is really rough after the procedure. I think the institute should be a little more forward promoting its use and maybe actually include an entire box in the post-op kit and not just 6 individual drops.
Lastly, my final gripe is pain management. I thankfully did not need any anxiety medication prior to the procedure, but it was never offered at the office despite what I was told in the Zoom call. Additionally, anyone saying post-op is pain free is likely someone who also had medication to handle the pain post-op. Again, I was offered nothing other than "go to sleep" when I get home. Well, it's really hard to sleep when you're at a 7/10 on the pain threshold for those 5-6 hours post-op.

My sight is great, but the process has many flaws that can be easily mended. So 3/5, needs improvement.

I had my procedure a week and a half ago at Lasik Vision Institute. As a life-long contacts wearer, I always knew I wanted to do this but was pretty terrified which kept me thinking contacts "weren't that bad" for 25 years. I finally took the leap and am so glad I did. Everyone at LVI is so friendly and helpful and made me feel very at ease with the procedure. Shoutout to Joel, Dan and Dr. Brusco - They were super pros. I couldn't believe how quickly it was all over and now I have 20/15 vision! My astigmatism is gone and I am amazed at how much I was missing in the world. Literally tears everyday. I hope this review helps someone else like me who is thinking about exploring LASIK for themselves. 20/10 would do it again.

My only regret is that I didn’t get LASIK sooner! Dr Brusco walked me through every step of the process, and honestly, the surgery didn’t hurt at all! I had the procedure done yesterday, and I can already see very well today. Just be sure to rest your eyes as directed and use the drops the office will provide. Also, you might have a sandy feeling in your eyes for about 4-6 hours after the surgery, but for me, it was gone by morning. I definitely recommend this procedure.

My eyes are so much better and they were like that within 2 days. Quick and fairly simple.
Just make sure to sleep after the procedure really helped.
When I did this, I woke up already with a major change. I'm 50 now, and wish I did this 25 years ago.
Thank you

I did not have a great experience with this place. After talking with Ruth and seeing all the amazing reviews I was super stoked to book my appointment. However, thirty minutes before my appointment my appointment was canceled without an explanation. I could not answer because I was driving. Thirty minutes before a scheduled appointment is not enough time and not professional. I will NOT be returning.

My experience at Lasik Vision Institute was mostly pleasant. I can see clearly now, which is the ultimate goal! The only negative to report is that they do not sit you down to recover… you get off of the operating table and told “congratulations” and are able to walk out immediately. I became nauseous on my walk out to the waiting room, almost passed out, and needed to sit on their bathroom floor for a few minutes before I could leave. A 10-15 minute recovery period wouldn’t hurt for future patients to ensure that they are alright to leave.

Dr Michael Brusco is da bomb. My eyes are already 20/15 and It’s only been a week. The fact that they talked and explained everything to me throughout the procedure really helped to reduce my anxiety. 10/10 would recommend!

Great experience! From start to finish everything was quick and easy. Staff are super friendly and made the experience feel very personal. Surgery was super fast and surgeons were personable. My vision has gone from around 20/70 20/200 to 20/15 20/20 which is fantastic. Generally a life changing experience. After surgery sleep as soon as possible. When the numbing drops wear off it sucks for about 6 to 8 hours.

Such an amazing job. Office manager was extremely receptive and very responsive. Everything was communicated very clearly to me and the actual eye surgery was the easiest part. Surgeon was very nice and talked to me through the entire procedure to keep me calm and explained everything he was doing. Overall great experience and if your even contemplating getting lasik done don’t hesitate and get it done by lasik vision you won’t regret it.

My brother and I both went to get Lasik done on the same day. Joel was so helpful with setting us up with our pre-op appointment and answering any questions we had before and after our visit. Dr. Michael Brusco was so kind and explained everything he was about to do. My brother and I both see 20/15 now! I would recommend The LASIK Vision Institute to anyone who was considering Lasik! It has been the best decision of my life!

This was absolutely the best decision I ever made.
The entire team at Lasics Vision Institute, Lancaster PA location explained everything in great detail including every step while the procedure was being done.
All I will say that if I had to do it all over again there would be no hesitation at all.
I day after the procedure, I had a follow up examination and my vision was once again 20/15. "No more glasses". My vision is becoming even more crisp as the days go by and it's only been 1 week post-op.
Thank you all again.

One week post opt, the staff was very friendly, nice, professional, and they made the experience as comfortable as it could’ve been! So far I’m happy with the results and well worth the money!
