My husband took me here for my birthday and we will absolutely be back. Staff are beyond friendly, the experience is fantastic, and we even got to hear from the director! I highly recommend seeing a movie here and we can’t wait to come back and try to camp out!

There isn't to many Drive-ins left, so finding one is awesome and this is honestly one of the best. They have so much for you to do while watching the films and I can't recommend this place enough. You won't be disappointed for taking a ride for great films and even better people.

I went to The Mahoning with a friend at the beginning of October to see The Hateful Eight and by the time they had closed at the end of the month I had gone back 5 more times. Camping overnight is huge for me since I'm about an hour in a half away and sometimes the movies don't end until very late and I am not in love with driving at night. The staff is very friendly and approachable. By the end of the month they seemed to recognize me and I could joke with them and talk openly. The food is pretty decent and what you would expect from a theater quality wise, and they even have vegan burgers which my friend said was actually one of the better vegan burgers he has had and he was surprised it came from a drive in. I'd say my only complaint is parking could be regulated a bit better. Sometimes people park like jerks and take up two spots in the prime viewing areas. A bit annoying but not worth a deduction on the rating whatsoever. If you love drive ins, older movies, or just want to meet some fun people this is the place to be during the season.

I'm from Maryland and I drove all the way from Baltimore. Let me put it to you like this, if you love film and you love a good time you have to go here. It was exactly what I always wanted after watching the documentary last year. This place is so genuine, authentic and fun I had a wonderful time and I can't wait to come back next year. This place is a gem! Great movies, food and fantastic staff that genuinely love film! An experience i'll never forget!

A rare gem in the middle of PA. They show 35 mm movies here on the original projectors from 1947. It is worth the drive!

It was my first time there and I was ecstatic. This is a true gem of a place nestled in the mountains. It's a great drive-in run by great people, with great schedules of events, and great merch. I had so much fun, and I can't wait to come back!

Amazing viewing experience, the screen/screening quality and audio were excellent and the surrounding landscape is gorgeous. So affordable too. If you've got an old soul, you'll be enamored of this place. OMG the food is so reasonably priced and they had a vegan burger that absolutely knocked my socks off! So impressed on every level.

Amazing place. Me and the gf took a vacation in jim thorpe and stopped here last week. This was on my bucket list for a year at least after hearing about mahoning from an ex co-worker. We spent 7 hours here, but unfortunately my car battery died. The owner of the theater was super nice and gave us a jump start. Staff is amazing. Make sure you go outta your way to check this place out!

Always a fantastic, homey experience, taking you back to a different time. There's always great films and various showings. Love the refreshments stand. Fairly clean bathroom amenities (portapotties). Be sure to bring cash if you want to buy from the vendors. Great spot for a date night or outting with friends.

It was quite nostalgic to go to an old drive-in movie. The films are 35 mm so not up to the quality of digital films. You tune in to hear the movie over a radio station. It appears to be a very social place to go. They have made good use of the snack bar and sell a lot of memorabilia as well as wonderful snacks and food. There are times when they have a special event and show as many as four movies in a night. You can also pay extra and stay overnight there in your car or a tent to avoid driving along distance home after spending many hours watching movies.

This drive in is the best one I have ever been to and is definitely worth the drive. The food there is reasonably priced and actually tastes good. You can get as many refills on popcorn that you could possibly want and the tickets and merchandise are a really good price.

Really fun, sort-of niche experience, we were there for a triple action film night and there were two actors from one of the movies there, signing autographs and taking pictures with fans. Really cool! We plan to return again soon.

Gates open at 6, but the movie won't start until its dark enough. You need to have a good FM radio for the audio if you're worried about draining your car batteries; phone apps will not work!

Classic concession foods and merch are sold there, too, including burgers (veggie and ham), hotdogs, popcorn and candy, drinks etc,

Went for Exhumed Films' Pink Flamingoes/Polyester double feature.

Everything here is perfect. The VHS tapes. The decor. The setup. The food and food prices.

Awesome place. Great staff. Great experience. Definitely worth the 2 hour drive. If you're thinking about going, stop thinking and go. You won't regret it.

Great drive in that shows classic and cult movies on film. Good popcorn with lots of butter.:)
Dog friendly place.
Looking forward to camping there some weekend!
Hope they remain a drive in!

Love this kitschy drive-in & we camped overnight. There are lots of porta potties but no shower facilities. We’d do it again, with an easier tent and better blow up mattress. There’s an electrical outlet out back inside a doorway to blow up your mattress btw.
