The Pottery Works, Lancaster PA

We absolutely loved our time at the Pottery Works! The staff is super-friendly and knowledgeable! They have a lovely and diverse selection of pottery items as well as paints to choose from! And it is BYOB! We actually went in to try our hand at a simple Christmas ornament and came out with multiple ornaments and a whole tea-set! Definitely recommend for a fun artsy weekend with friends, family or kids!

From the day I was born, I was creative. Some would call me an Indigo Child. I never truly knew where people like myself belonged until I found The Pottery Works. I draw, I paint, I art. I bring all my wildest thoughts to fruition in this lovely byob safespace. Julie has become my muse, I incorporate her into all my pieces, whether it be her likeness or a strand of her hair. Highly recommend this place, especially on Wednesdays.

Perfect place to catch up with friends as you paint! I was here several times and always had a wonderful experience. So relaxing! Wonderful customer service as well. Also, be sure to stop at Rolled Cold just up the street for some ice cream!

I went with friends for a girls trip before a Dutch Apple Dinner show. It was a lot of fun and we can’t wait to see our pieces once they are fired and glazed. There were a couple things that could be improved.
1) The stencils they had for you to use were all misshaped and ruined. They didn’t have all the letters I needed. The stencils should be kept in a binder or somewhere easy for you to look through. It took a lot of time to go through to find what you wanted. Same with the stamps.
2) The pencils used to draw/write on your piece were not sharpened and they had no erasers on them! Buy replacement ones or a couple block erasers.
3) Additionally we were not told about the different ways available to design your piece. We found out later after walking into the back and seeing it on the wall way overhead.
A plus was the girl working there was informative when we asked questions. Have to ask tho! There is a large variety of pieces to choose from to paint.

This place is fantastic the staff is kind and friendly. I've taken my toddler here and I love it as a quality time activity that comes with a keepsake!

Staff are always so nice! They have a large selection and great prices. It’s a fun vibe for a hangout with friends of a big group party.

The PotteryWorks is an amazing shop in the heart of Lancaster. We made a reservation for early Friday afternoon & were welcomed as soon as we walked through the door. I spoke on the phone with one of the girls the week before to tell them that we were only staying in PA for a few days. She told us that she could finish our pieces early for us to work around our tight schedule. We spent around 4-5 hours painting on Friday afternoon and had a very nice time. Our pieces were ready for pick up on Sunday. Overall, it was a very fun experience and nice bonding time I spent with my boyfriend. The shop has many pieces and colors to choose from, I definitely recommend visiting to paint your very own pottery!

We attended an 8th birthday party here for my niece. We brought my 4 year old nephew. The kids loved the experience! The staff was attentive and helpful, and the selection of pottery and paint was great. Very nice place, and a fun time spent with the kids.

My friend and I have been wanting to go here for a while since she discovered it after moving to Lancaster and we will definitely be back because we had such an enjoyable time. I love painting and being creative so it was a perfect activity for us to do together. It was also very peaceful and zen once we got into painting our pieces and we really appreciate the music playlist they had going. The workers were helpful in explaining what each different kind of glaze would do and we had fun picking out our pieces and paint colors. There are tons of options of ceramic pieces to paint and personalize. I loved the artistic vibes of the place and can't wait to see my finished work and come back to do another one in the future.
