We came in town for a wedding at the ritz and stayed for the weekend.
The wedding was beautiful in the
grand ballroom.
But we were a bit disappointed in the hotel rooms and service.
No area in front of hotel to pull car up, no valet or bellman unless you ask at front desk.
The lobby bar is gorgeous and bartender were great but one of the waitstaff was extremely ride to all of us. She was frustrated staying we were blocking her table although no one was sitting there.she was overly rude to us.
And I have to say our room was the worst part.was not clean. We heard a noise on and off all night.a weird buzzing noise.when we finally found coffee machine in drawer a d went to make a cup we realized what the noise was.the LOUDEST coffee maker ever! And it didn't even work correctly the ritz is definitely not the old school ritz.price not worth it!
Pictures show stains on floor of room and something on bed skirt.

Met a colleague for a meeting and everything was as expected in such a nice establishment. Polite, courteous staff, cleanliness was amazing and appetizers were excellent.

We had a great stay at this location! Our honeymoon flight was canceled and we decided to stay here one night. When the front desk learned of our troubles, they upgraded us to a suite on the 23rd floor and sent up a bottle of bubbly! We had no suitcase, but we were more than happy to hang in the provided robes and soak up the views!

*DO NO USE THEIR VALET SERVICE! * We waited over and hour to get our vehicle and everyone just kept saying it was "on the way"
Not an ideal way to end a trip.

Newly renovated rooms, and revamped staff makes this a comfortable luxury hotel. The biggest issue is the structure of the ground floor. A former bank building does not lend itself to an open air restaurant and check in lobby. The ramp and stairs aren't easy to maneuver if you have limited mobility. But having stayed here at least once a year for the last decade, it definitely improves overall every year.

The hotel lobby is impressive and the room was perfectly fine but the valet staff and front desk staff were not particularly nice and the shower was broken (tepid water and dreadful pressure). It was a fine stay but definitely did not live up to the Ritz name.

Stayed here for a weekend getaway to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. The only reason this place gets two stars is for the actual building and a luxury bathroom.

Now for the reasons for the poor review: 1. No one is opening doors or carrying luggage. Expect to carry your own bags. 2. The "upgrade" to a "deluxe" king is a 5th floor king on the Broad Street side. 5 th floor is definitely not going to get you away from the street noise. This "upgrade" just moves you to a room that they can't sell because no one wants to stay there. 3. The design of the hotel bar/ restaurant really subtracts from the beauty of the building. 4. Stains on the furniture in the room. Housekeeping doesn't even make the bed or provide clean towels. I don't expect a full cleaning for a two night stay, but making the bed and exchanging towels should be done everyday.

After reading the other reviews, now I realize that this hotel is now managed by Maryott. I can't believe that the name Ritz is still on this hotel. It definitely doesn't feel like a luxury hotel. I've received better service and a better room at less expensive hotels. Skip the Ritz on your next trip to Philly.

Great restaurant with solid Italian comfort food. Had the meatball appetizer, 10 layer lasagna and the steak entree (least favorite but not bad)

This was the worst stay I’ve had at a Ritz-Carlton. We stayed here for three nights for a wedding. The building is beautiful with a stunning lobby, but that’s the only nice thing I can say. Our first room was drab, the curtains were ripped, and the toilet wouldn’t flush. When we asked to change rooms, the staff was kind but came without any luggage cart and we had to carry all of our stuff to the next room. The next room also had ripped curtains. On the first day we arrived, the hostess sat us at a table near the bar in the lobby and waited 10 minutes without coming by our table. At the same time several tables around us and folks at the bar we’re getting service. I went to the bar and asked if I needed to order there and the bartender said no and he would send someone over. We waiting another 10 minutes without anyone coming by and we left to the Capital Grille (fantastic food and service). We reached out to Ritz-Carlton/Marriott and did not get a reply. I recommend avoiding this location.

Honestly didn’t like it very much. It was very pretty that is true, but all in all did not receive a 5 star hotel treatment. The bathroom mirror had corrosion at the bottom and the curtain had hair…Hair! Just thankful it was just one night. But we won’t be staying there any time soon. The 3 stars are for the service that was good at the end.

Came here in the middle of the day for a 15 minutes venue tour and waited 40 minutes to get our car back from valet…

Grab a drink in the lobby and see three different weddings going on in one night. Weak cocktails if you get a mixed drink, so get a martini if you want a real drink.

Quick one night stay passing through Philadelphia. The property is absolutely stunning. Check-in and check-out very efficient and the food in the lobby restaurant was great. A special thank you too Hakeem (super helpful and friendly) David (mgr), as well as Ava and Jasmine from the restaurant whom are absolute gems. Super clean rooms and Amazing views from the 17th floor. Wish we could have stayed longer.

I am not usually one to complain about hotels – but after a very expensive and very disappointing stay at the Ritz Carlton Philadelphia last weekend, I am posting my first ever negative review.

We have stayed at this hotel several times before the Marriott takeover, and have in general loved the special touch of a Ritz Carleton hotel. That is gone.

Our 3 day/ 2 night stay kicked off with a surprise hefty $60/day valet fee – this hotel does not have a parking lot or a garage and doesn’t warn you that this fee is almost unavoidable (so make sure you include that extra fee into your calculations.)

When we checked in, the desk clerk offered us an “upgrade” – a “free upgrade” – to a different room. She made it sound great, so we agreed. Instead of checking into a room on the 23rd floor, we checked into a room on the 8th floor. The room did have large windows, even if they looked a bit unsafe without any window guards. Our room faced City Hall which was nice — or so we thought.

Several hours later the motorcycles began to circle City Hall, which our windows faced. The sound filled the room and made it impossible to even watch TV.

Later on we found out that the hotel has a hard time renting those rooms for exactly this reason – so bravo Ritz! You pulled a fast one on us and managed to charge us a premium rate for an obviously subpar room.

So we gave up on TV and went to sleep, hoping earplugs would help. After my wife fell asleep, I noticed the motorcycle noise was louder on one side of the room and then noticed that one of the large windows was not sealed shut. With my wife asleep I couldn’t call hotel maintenance to the room, and at my age, I’m not climbing on a window sill to wrestle with a stuck window – so I spent half the night listening to motorcycles circle city hall. By morning I was exhausted.

Leaving my wife asleep in the room, I went downstairs in search of coffee because there
was no coffeemaker in the room. The Ritz front desk informed me that there was no longer any free coffee in the lobby, and that the restaurant didn’t open for another hour. Later on I found out that the Ritz specifically advertises a coffeemaker in each room— it would have been nice if we had one of those in our “upgraded” rooms, or if the front desk staff would have thought to suggest making coffee in the room.

When we packed up and moved to a different room – once again, there was no coffee maker in the room.

There were more small disappointments, but Overall it felt like we were ripped off. This is a luxury hotel without the luxury. Everything in this hotel has a price tag on it, from the bottled water to the internet access. There are no amenities. We paid through the nose for everything, and everything felt cheap and cut rate. Even the front desk service.

This is not the Ritz you might remember.

We will never return to this hotel and if you are looking for a comfortable hotel to relax for the weekend, we suggest you look elsewhere!

I need a 2 part review, some things were 5 star, some 1.
Valet wrecked my rental car, at $60/ night plus $170 in tips
Noise alert, even 14th floor severe street noise, sirens, honks, music, motorcycle sounds, people screaming.you need music and noise canceling buds.even then I still woke several times due to fire trucks.
Carpet sticky, used socks, they got black
Maggie and Mimoza need a raise!:)
Bed was amazing and comfortable, pillows plush. The blanket was just right.
Had to call for extra bedding in sofa-bed, didn't get extra pillows requested prior to arrival
location and lobby incredible
They don't get the door for you like the Ritz in St Louis.club lounge has 4 all you can eat nice meals a day, unlimited drinks, juice, alcoholic beverages - and the view is awesome
second bed in sofa was a disaster on comfort level, and it was stained. My son just returned from camp so we ok.telephones work and guest services always answered quickly.
In room amenities and snacks were not fully refilled, we didn't need them due to club lounge, but still nice to see fully stocked.
Club concierge service was a huge help. I really appreciated getting my trip streamlined.the breakfast chef at the club is a great cook. He was kind also. It's just eggs, but I enjoyed them.bring your nice clothes. I was in leisure attire, but even in Tommy and Ralph Lauren I often felt under dressed. I was just in for a quick weekend though. I saw people get treated better or worse based on their clothes. I only bypassed this rule by being very open that I was a tired housewife and mom just getting my kid from summer camp.you might see a few stars, don't bother them of course but it's neat to nod and smile.staff, valet, and security are all helpful and kind, despite my car problem. Big shout out to Maggie and Mimoza. They do their job with class and grace, even when some of the customers weren't so kind.
I noticed valet drivers were turning tips into the head boss, I don't know if this is something that entices them to drive like daredevils or not, but I give tips to the person who earned it.centrally located with a bit of a walk to all places, or better yet get a ride. Due to Delta 4 on the rise, we walked. There are a lot of homeless in between the Carlton and liberty bell. Take some ones.

Overall I enjoyed my stay, but I believe if coming back through I will try another hotel. The noise at night and the rental car claim were a lot for me to overcome, thankful for the insurance. $800/ night, these shouldn't be things you struggle with. Room to room noise was more minimal, but the elevator shakes my tub when I'm in the bath. Nothing they can do to fix that. I just think valet service could use a bit more discipline, that's the only change I see.

Gorgeous place.

Great service and good quality accommodation if your budget will stretch. It would be hard to get a more central location within Philly.

We got the best massage from their spa it was well worth every second - such a gorgeous facility and the staff was superb they treated my daughters and I so wonderfully. If you need a place to unwind and relax this is the place to do it. You will love it and never want it to end

Checkin was at 4 pm but my room wasn't ready until closer to 5 (they didn't care that much). Oh and the valet got into an accident with a bus while parking my rental car. They assured me that I wouldn't get charged for the valet (so nice!). Doesn't have a pool. The "spa" doesn't have a sauna or jacuzzi. Rooms are decently nice. Make memories at the #RC!
