The Sidecar Bar & Grille reviews
15Worst food I’ve ever eaten. An Italian pasta dish with veggies that were burned and pasta that was falling apart. Al fresco dining next to a bike lane and bus route. However the waiter was friendly and attentive. Also I need a real menu I can hold in my hand not a digital one.
I wish they sold Mussels at the late night happy hour. But over all its a nice place to go get drinks and food on the late night.
Wish there was more to "write home about" here, but I've been here 4 times over the past few years and every time I leave very "meh".
Often slow service. I've been "forgotten" multiple times here and even seen people walk out after waiting too long once seated.
Food was just fine, but perhaps there are gems here I just didn't try yet. Pizza by the slice came cold and stale tasting, burger fell apart, truffle aioli was way too much truffle for my taste.
Food was good. Service was slow & rude. Took a while for drinks and food to come. We had a drink after we were done eating dinner and was rudely asked to leave by the hostess midway through our drinks. She told us “we were there too long”.
Happy hour here is great. Their burger and beer combo is one of my faves. They have alcoholic slushie drinks in the summer and strong IPAs on tap. Love having this in the neighborhood.
My family stopped here on a whim after a medical appointment and were absolutely blown away by both the quality AND quantity of food on their brunch menu. Hubby got the brisket cheesesteak and not only was it out of this world, but we took half home to enjoy later. Same with the breakfast burrito that came with the freshest, crispiest side salad, and if you don’t think breakfast burrito and salad go together, this will change your mind. The boys devoured their burgers (two patties each!), and as a side note, damn good Bloody Mary’s. Cheers!
The overall experience seems to be a little on the down side
It's a real shame.
I've heard a lot good things overall when it comes to the food.
The Mac and cheese; though properly "cheesed" was on the runny and salty end. (Regardless this was still quite good for what it was)
The Nashville hot chicken sandwich was a lot of waste in the spice and space department.
Highlight? Bun and pickles.
Seems like a lot of hot oil with minimal pepper based flavor to back it up. (Mind you, this is a heat: flavor issue)
The "ranch" came off as a mild "salt aoli" in retrospect.
Service itself was okay. A negroni shouldn't take as long to come to a table as a mac & cheese appetizer.
The negroni itself was very standard. No issue there.
Came in with friends last night and ordered the Beef Bourguignon Gnocchi - AMAZING! I literally ate all the sauce from the bottom of the dish when I was finished with my meal. Others in my party ordered a buffalo chicken cheesesteak, cheeseburger, wings, and brussels sprouts appetizer and we thoroughly enjoyed everything. Will definitely be back and hoping to try the pizza next time!
Good food but expensive and probably overpriced for what it is although the multiple drink options and business hours almost make up for it. To make matters worse, some of the staff is passively rude and I wouldn't say the atmosphere is for every type of person. There are too many better options in the neighborhood to give this place more than 2 stars and this is coming from someone who has been in the area for multiple years.
I went here for brunch and it was absolutely amazing, I had the French toast and the benny and both were out of this world! The portions were also very big so definitely a good bang for your buck. The tropical mimosa was also delicious. 10/10 would go again!
This is my go to place for a Nashville hot chicken sandwich, I always ask for it with caramelized onions on top and it just does not disappoint. It always tastes delicious no matter how many times I order - 10/10 for consistency too.
Great spot for dinner - especially in nice weather! The hummus and the veggie burger were both delicious.
This has happened several times before. Food is good but they do not manage their delivery options well. They have selective hours that they deliver through third parties but they do not keep those updated. I just placed an order through Grubhub, an hour later the driver tells me the restaurant tells him they are not taking Grubhub orders and asks me to cancel the order. I call the restaurant but they do not pick up their phone, so I have to call Grubhub to refund the order. In the interim, I see the restaurant has now set their status to "closed" on Grubhub. So yeah, good food but poor delivery management.
The Sidecar is very convenient to Naval Square! Their food is very tasty. I fell in love with the mussels with roasted fennel cooked in the sauce.and the bread that arrives with the mussels is soooo good and perfect for soaking up that juice! Hamburgers are also really good and huge! The So Persuasive cocktail is delicious.a nice slow sipper. Service is wanting but worth the wait for attention.
Had my first Sidecar experience for brunch recently and it was incredible! You can throw a dart at the menu and wind up with something you love. You absolutely can not miss the breakfast flatbread and if you’re lucky enough to see biscuits and gravy on the menu — run to it. Best in the city. Service was absolutely top notch as well! Looking forward to my next trip back
