The Smiling Moose reviews
11Nicole the bartender is a Rockstar. My friends and I were coming from soccer and she took care of everything we need. She helped us with our fruity beers, our iron city beers and helped with all of our food requests.
Friendly bar staff
Fun drinks
Good food
Fun vibe
Got the pierogi, which comes deep fried with the most incredible onion jam. The pierogi tasted like Mrs T's from the frozen section but that jam did laps around the restaurant. It was incredible.
My friend got the pink drink which tasted like pink and white animal cookies.
A fun place to stop on a stumble down Carson.
Amazing place! Really cool vibe! Food was absolutely amazing! Nicole M was the sweetest, coolest bartender ever!
Great service - I accidentally added a few too many zeroes to my tip, and Scott fixed it for me, no questions asked.
I have to differ with the crowd, here. Arrived around 7 p.m. On a very slow Sunday night. We were the only two people eating at a table. Started out well, with the waitress giving us small samples of the beer so we could choose. Only a small number of the beers on the menu were actually available and neither of us could get what we wanted, but we found something acceptable. Then we ordered our food. After a lengthy wait, she brought out a plate of nachos, Neither of us had ordered nachos but when we told her this, she actually argued with us. "Yes you did. " We eventually realized she'd heard "nachos" instead of "tacos" and since they looked good, we decide to go ahead with nachos instead of tacos. Why not be flexible? I did notice she never apologized for the mix-up. After another lengthy wait, my mac and cheese arrived. The serving was, small - at most, a cup and a half of pasta. Okay, but $10 for that? I told her I didn't want it at that price and wasn't willing to undergo yet another lengthy wait for some other dish. She was pretty short-tempered about the whole thing but eventually said she'd let me have it for half price. I said okay, since there really wasn't any other good option. Then my friend asked for a spoon for her soup and the waitress got huffy about that.
Mac and cheese can take many forms and different folks have different taste. I didn't like this version. There was plenty of cheese, but it was bland and the texture was unpleasant. But I was hungry and my friend had lots of food in front of her (the nachos weren't bad) so I ate it. Needless to say, I was done long before my friend.
When the bill came, the waitress had charged me $7, not $5 as she had offered. I asked her why and she said "You ate the whole thing. " Well, yes. There wasn't that much to start with. But we had agreed on half price. When I tried to hold her to that, she got angry, made rude comments and finished by telling me never to come back again. I wouldn't have returned anyway, but after her behavior, I felt I had to tell the story.
Awesome bar, haven't had the food but heard it's really good. Their emo nights are the best!
Good space considering location, not too pricey, good sound system and separation of space. Nice attentive bartenders for the crowd.
Went there kinda by accident, definitely a cool place with great food and awesome atmosphere.
The burgers were amazing and so was the service! I had Sean as my bartender and he was so kind and made the best drinks!
I fancied the steak and cheese very much it had fine grace full bread and the meat was much amazing. It came alive and melted in my watering mouth. The cheese steak had fine home made beer cheese in it as well and it was much delicious. For an appetizer, i got the scrumptious loaded tots. It had a perfected acidity sour cream with tasteful queso. I had deep affection with my dapper meal and my glistening iced tea. The whole menu was also very appealing. The asticks very elegant and I adore the name Smiling Mose such a majestic name.
Awesome place to eat and drink. Food is quality always make it a priority to stop here when I'm in town.
