The Standard at State College

I’ve really enjoyed living here this year and plan on living here for my senior year. I’d say my favorite thing has to be the location. You’re close to campus and downtown.

The Standard is a Slayyyyy! The staff are amazing and so friendly. They help with any needs or questions. The facilities and location are so close and perfect to get downtown with only a 5 minute walk to Old Main. The gym and clubhouse are also very nice. The Standard also has a bunch of fun activities and cool things for the residents that the staff do. I recommend living here!

So far I love the place, lived here since the beginning of the semester. It does have some flaws here and there. But overall I love it and its location

I was very happy to have seen a new complex being built my freshman year of college. My roommates and I went on a tour and felt very cared for and excited to move in! I have been living here three years now and I couldn’t be happier with the amenities and the space the Standard offers. It is a beautiful place to live and we have recommended it many times to other college students. I also love the location!

Overall great apartment. I have lived here for two years and am satisfied- minus a few complaints this is a great place to live!

I really enjoy living at the Standard, only complaints are that the elevators take a very long time and the fire alarms go off a lot more frequently than I would like. Other than that, maintenance is generally pretty fast and the front desk is always very helpful and efficient.

I’ve lived here for three years now and have had mixed experiences.it’s clear that staff turnover rates cause inexperienced people to work, quit, and then the cycle continues.just this past month a staff member “sent back” my package to sender by mistake, but theres no evidence of that actually being the case.so it’s been a wild goose chase.the cleanliness of the building has been an ongoing issue, as well as elevators being broken and taking forever.i also noticed that the gym never gets cleaned, or if it does it’s very minimal.the complex addressed it in their annual survey, so hopefully it will get better.i know some people have had major issues in their units, but luckily i never have outside of plumbing issues.the units themselves are very nice.the issue is probably tenants leaving their apartments a mess and not treating the property respectfully + how fast the building was built.maintenance is very friendly and quick to respond to issues, which is great.i appreciate the events that the building puts on, like providing breakfast during finals, giveaways, etc.the location is probably the best part of living here.so theres positives and negatives to living here, like there is everywhere in a college town.

Favorite place i’ve lived so far.the workers are beyond angels and the nicest people.all the amenities including the gym are really nice.study rooms are perfect for studying and even alone time.the office sets up many different events to attend for the residents throughout the year, which most of them have many prizes to win.overall 10/10, even the maintenance guy is super understanding and usually responds to maintenance requests in reasonable time.

Spacious units with tall ceilings, great amenities, great views, very very short work to campus. I moved in a couple years ago and renewed twice.

The standard is a great place to live. The staff is very nice and helpful and all of my neighbors have been awesome to live around. The amenities are really cool and fun especially the golf simulator.

Great modern apartment design. I just wish the pool would stay open a little long at least the hot tube! Great apartment.

While move-in was rough, I’ve had friends who lived here over the years and they noted the huge improvements the staff made as well as holding the vendors responsible for their performance. While our unit wasn’t perfect, the front desk was receptive and sent the cleaners back to do a quick touch up. Other units were definitely worst than ours but like I said, the staff was great and it’s crazy people expect them to have perfect move-ins with a building of this size, maybe if residents would leave the rooms in good shape so much cleaning wouldn’t be needed? Just a thought. Don’t take it out on the staff who are just doing their jobs! Like when the elevators went down they hopped into action to make sure we got everything in quickly, they gave us extra time with the carts, and I heard plenty of residents state that even with those mishaps this move-in was still better than previous years! The building has its faults but the residents are the main reason the building is how it is (folks on my floor drag garbage around, spill things, and throw food in the stairwell like animals) and things break or go missing. Stop stealing, trashing, and breaking things! I really love living here and the staff is super helpful and so sweet and full of energy even after they get done with some characters. I do wish the rent prices were lower as I feel the issues the building does face should result in a reduction so the residents feel they’re paying for what they receive, but I am competent enough to know the staff doesn’t get much say in that. If the residents were more respectful or maybe if these parents parented them then you'd have better experiences? Just saying, the reviews don’t add up to what I have personally experienced. Not every issue can be resolved and sometimes you just have to deal with that if you’re paying for a great location with a great staff and great amenities. Focus on the positives!

I love the staff! They are so great and helpful! Everytime I have an issue, they are always quick to help me out. You should definitely sign a lease here!

Literally the worst apartment on campus.people get stuck on the elevators multiple times a month and they seem to forget we are college students who need wifi, but it’s always down. It’s actually ridiculous I have failed a quiz because there’s no wifi. Don't live here. Might even look into pursuing legal action. It’s ridiculous I pay 2k in rent and can’t even have proper connection. This apartment is a scam and a major headache.

BEWARE students and parents! I agree with T Bye review.had the same experience with my student. They ask for the proof in the beginning and then don't use it in the end. Charge huge fees to fix ridiculous and old repairs. And then threaten collections! Total scam!
