The State Cafe and Grill reviews
19Amazing! Everything was so delicious - best food of our anniversary weekend. We will be back!
There is no doubt as to why the line is out the door every weekend. They have a unique assortment of options. The ricotta lemon pancakes were amazing and the French dip style breakfast sandwich was pretty awesome. This place has the best pancakes I have ever had.
Wow! Absolutely delicious! Highly recommend having breakfast here! Very friendly staff and lovely little place.
This place has cozy vibes and home style breakfast options. The pancakes are delicious and the portions are generous. There’s even a bar top where you can sit if you come alone.
I just had breakfast there for the first time and I must say it was outstanding! Great service, friendly staff and the egg dip pastrami sandwich is to die for! Definitely a new go to place for me.
Literally my favorite breakfast place! I really am not a big pancake fan but these pancakes are the absolute best! I can’t recommend this place enough.
1st time here and we will be back soon. I had a simple breakfast of bacon and eggs, home fries and cornbread. Wow! You have to love when everything is exactly as you ordered it. The menu includes some pretty creative dishes which we will try next. This place has a homey feel and service which is outstanding.
First time at “THE STATE CAFE & GRILL”
We had Breakfast and it Hit the Spot
food was Delicious. That Blueberry syrup was Goooooood. Service and staff was good, all were nice and friendly as well as the owner. My only complaint is that they have small cups for OJ, and, I LOVE MY OJ ️ haha other than that, We will be back to try the lunch menu.if your ever in the area and would like a Good Breakfast. Stop by and grab a bite
DIG IN!?
We had the Following:
LEMON RICOTTA PANCAKES
SCRAMBLED EGGS & TURKEY BACON CRISPY, HOMEFRIES and TOAST…
Great place that seems like a hole in the wall that apparently everyone knows! Super packed the day we went.
Our waitress was patient and kind, food came out fast and was delicious.
The fried egg ruban came recommended and was very good, though I do prefer a regular Ruben. Cheese being perfectly melted, the au jus was great for dipping.
Chocolate chip banana bread was heavy and very dense which was a distraction from the pleasant flavor.
The potatoes were just ok, they were very plain. While a usual highlight for me at breakfast places, this was a lowlight.
Menu options were plentiful, and it is a place we would go back simply to try other things out.
The food was the best breakfast I have ever had and if you go choose on the lunch side for the grilled sandwiches it's amazing would 100% recommend
Amazing little spot! Stopped here for breakfast on the way home. My husband got a bacon, egg, and cheese on sourdough bread (He ate it before I got to snap a pic) I got oatmeal with fresh fruit.
Fresh food, tasty bread, not greasy at all. Will be stopping here again. Not expensive, and fast service.
Came across this chill breakfast/ lunch restaurant by chance. It's located on a side street very easy to miss, which would have been a shame! The food was delicious, and the service was very pleasant and welcoming. The atmosphere was interesting and relaxing. Would definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone.
Oh my God it was the first time I had ever been there we drove from Allentown it was such a cute little spot nothing fancy and the people were having free breakfast for everyone for Easter weekend they were wonderful it was set up nice everybody was very very friendly I would go back there again just to be there it's tiny and quaint I love it
Enjoyed the food. Interesting selection of breakfast fare. Pancakes were very substantial. Liked the savory oatmeal. Will have to try to replicate at home. Friendly staff. Very busy when we visited but they found us a table without too long a wait. Staff took good care of us.
My family and I have been coming here for a while (since before they closed for a little bit for repairs) and I am so happy to see it back up and running! I order the Antonio stir fry with a coffee religiously and I love it. Stir fry has a variety of flavors and the coffee is equally as good. My s/o ordered a breakfast burrito on our last visit and he really enjoyed that as well. The icing on the cake (literally, bc the icing that comes with these things is AMAZING) was the cinnamon roll pancakes. Their regular pancakes are decent and fluffy, but these cinnamon roll pancakes were on a whole other level. Their specials are fantastic and everything just tastes so fresh. I typically go Sundays (which is very busy) and there is a little bit of a wait bc this spot is just the best breakfast in town! But trust me, the wait never feels as long as they tell you and it is WELL worth it. My only recommendation would be maybe implementing a text system for waiting customers? Sometimes it’s just too crowded to wait inside and I get nervous I’ll miss my turn. Oh well. Nothing that will keep me from coming back and enjoying this great little spot regularly. Oh and the staff? Polite, efficient, and helpful. Highly recommend over any other breakfast spot in the area.
Fun and tasty! Don't sleep on their specials. It's a small place but worth the wait. They have a lot of local vendors for their products.
I had the French toast special that had mushroom gravy. It was delicious! Staff is very friendly. Definitely try this place!
The food was good and the price was also. The wait was 40 minutes and that seemed par - Sunday lunch. The music is loud and the small seating area made it seem louder. Parking can be a bear unless you want to walk up from the garages in downtown.
Absolutely wonderful! First time here and was very impressed. I had an omelet with cauliflower, spinach and mushrooms. The eggs were fluffy and cooked to perfection. All the veggies were fresh and the mushrooms were especially good. The home fries were delicious and appeared to have a garlicky butter that hit the spot.
My brother had the oatmeal which had strawberry balsamic and berries. He said it was without question the best oatmeal he ever had. Good fresh, french roast coffee was a nice added touch.
The service was nothing short of OUTSTANDING! Can't wait to go back to try other breakfast items and lunch too. Lastly, the prices were extremely reasonable. If I could I would give more than 5 stars!
They are a smooth breakfast machine for service and the food is top notch. They deserve all the praise they receive.
