The Velojawn Bike Shop reviews
6After having an annoying problem with a used indoor trainer, I took it here for a second opinion. This mechanic not only thinks outside the box but he clearly walks you through his thought process. Initially, I thought he was just very talkative but you really hear the thoughts of a genius. I have never asked so many questions and gotten all the answers but still wanted to ask more just to pick his brain.
Had a bike shipped and assembled here with an Alfine internal hub. It was assembled incorrectly and aligned/calibrated on the 5th gear and not the 4th. I brought it back to be fixed and the mechanic was extremely unprofessional. I was told to not mess with it myself and try watching some YouTube videos (I did make it worse by messing with the adjustors), and if I wanted the bike properly aligned I would have to pay (even though I paid for assembly). They still calibrated it incorrectly in 5th gear on the second visit. I took it somewhere else where it was fixed without issue.
Dropped my bike off on my lunch break and it was ready before my work day was over! Asked them for an honest assessment of what I needed and they gave me a great price. Excellent service and will definitely be using them for servicing in the future
I Lve this shop. I came here to get my beach cruiser fixed it needed to be adjusted and fork turn around.lol. Great customer service and it didn't cost me a arm and a leg.hahaa
Thank you so much for making me one happy customer
Special ordered a bike rack 3 years ago.
They had the exact one in stock when I needed a replacement.
They listen to their customers, are easy to talk to, and generally care about biking in Philly.
AAAAA+
I'm not a bike enthusiast, but I was looking for a gift for a friend who is. I talked to Evan for a while and picked up a small gift (a pocket bike repair multi tool). What I really enjoyed was the in-person experience of shopping at a neighborhood business. Our toddler even had time to get comfortable with the resident pup, Bear, thanks to Evan taking the time to "introduce" them.
Velojawn is a retail and repair store that seems to offer most things that a cyclist would need or want. What I really appreciated was the time Evan took to attend to us, make recommendations, and even talk about raising a family in Philly:)
The plan is for me to actually take my friend to Velojawn for a gift shopping visit until they have gift cards back in stock!
