The Village at Windermere Apartments (formerly The Point at Windermere)

I have been living here for 2 years. It is a really beautiful location. Office staff are friendly and helpful. Apartment is spacious is comfortable. Maintenance staff are efficient and diligent. Neighbors are friendly, and it is a vibrant but peaceful community. I am really enjoying my stay here.

I LOVE THE POINT AT WINDERMERE. I HAVE LIVED HERE FOR TWO YEARS AND HAVE RENEWED MY LEASE FOR 18 MONTHS.
I FEEL LOVED AND SAFE BY THERESA CHING/PAIGE JALOT AND HELEN. I CONSIDER MY UNIT MY HOME NOT A RENTAL UNIT.
THE CLUB HOUSE AND POOL WITH TWO BBQ'S IS AWESOME AND HAS FREE COFFEE AND SNACKS AND HUGE TV. ALL APPLIANCES MICROWAVE/OVEN FRIDGE WITH ICE MAKER WASHER AND DRYER ARE ALL IN MY UNIT.
THE MAINTENANCE STAFF WITH CRAIG/BOBBY AND BRANDON IS 24/7 AND HIGHLY RESPONSIVE. MY WATER HEATER WAS REPAIRED AT MIDNIGHT!
THE FULLY EQUIPPED GYM AND SAUNA COMES WITH A TV AND IS AWESOME.
THERE IS A BRAND NEW GIANTS GROCERY STORE WHERE I WORK THREE MINUTES FROM OUR COMPLEX IN WESTTOWN PLAZA WHICH ALSO INCLUDES A BURGER KING/LIQUOR STORE AND THE BEST CHINESE FOOD AT ASUKA ALONG WITH TWO BANKS AND OTHER STORES.
THERE IS A WAWA LESS THAN A MINUTE AWAY PNC BANK AND RITEAID WITH EMERGENCY CARE THE SAME>

RTE 202 WHICH TAKES ME TO PHILLY IN 40 MINUTES IS 7 MINUTES AWAY.

I HAVE NOT LEFT MY IMMEDIATE AREA IN 6 MONTHS!

It’s a nice community located a few miles outside of town. You can catch the 104 going into town, drive or take an Uber. Excited for the community center to be completed with its remodel bc it has a peloton that I LOVE having access to whenever I need a quick workout and don’t feel like going to the gym. The front office is so nice and helpful as well. I also love my fireplace! I live in the Madison which is a 1 bdr corner unit.

My girlfriend and I moved in 2 weeks before Christmas 2021 and love it so far! We moved from California and our search began in August 2021, ever since day 1 the staff has been extremely helpful. Scheduling walk throughs before our move was a breeze, they accommodated us without any issue and showed us multiple apartments to choose from. Our unit is completely remodeled with brand new everything, its perfect! We currently have a 1 bedroom unit with 2 dogs and there's plenty of space for all of us. A fireplace and a balcony was a nice bonus as well. The property is very well maintained and everyone we have been in contact with has been very kind. I would highly recommend this property.

I absolutely love living here! Great community and the office staff are always very helpful and responsive. Maintenance requests are handled quickly as well. The apartments are also quiet (I hardly hear me neighbors).

I have lived at this community over a year and have truly loved it. The front office is incredibly friendly and the maintenance team has been responsive to any request needed. So thankful for the prompt snow removal! It has been a quiet community with many kind neighbors.

We are absolutely Inlove with our apartment. At times I feel I'm on vacation sitting on my porch or sitting in front of my fireplace is just so relaxing. Our neighbors are so great and friendly. The staff at Windermere are so helpful, professional and loving you can definitely tell they care about the people that live here.

We just spent 3 months renting an apartment at Windermere while waiting for our house to be completed. I had not rented in over 40 years and didn't know what to expect. The Village at Windermere blew our expectations away. It was clean and well maintained, very quiet, friendly, and great location. It first started with the office. Theresa Ching and her team of Amanda Smallwood, and Kristy Schatz were great from the first day my wife inquired about renting to our last day. They met our our needs, and were aways going the extra mile. The office atmosphere is very warm and welcoming. Jim does a fantastic job with maintenance. If we had an issue he took care of it right away. We had a great experience and were truly sad to have to move on.

My roommates and i have been here for a year already and we honestly couldnt have asked for a better place to live. The community is nice and quiet. The surrounding stores make shopping convenient. The staff here are incredibly nice and accomodating. They are always looking to improve the living experience though i believe its amazing regardless.

The Village at Windermere is a beautiful place to live in West Chester. The apartments are beautiful, spacious, and well-priced! We’ve only been here for one month, but every neighbor and resident has been nice and welcoming! Not only that, but also the staff are fantastic. Maintenance guys are fast, professional and very helpful. The assistant property manager Amanda, has been especially great. She has been extremely professional, compassionate, and has gone the extra mile for us! She has answered all questions we have had/fixed any of problems in a quickly manner. We highly recommend this apartment complex for anyone looking for a new home!

The Village at Windermere is a great place to live! My fiancé and I moved in a little over a year ago during COVID and we were worried because we never got to tour the place ahead of time but we really lucked out! The price is very reasonable for the location and for the amount of square footage you get. The buildings were just repainted and look super nice! There’s a pool and a gym and a nice tennis court too. It’s very safe and the neighbors are super nice! I definitely recommend it 10/10

Update:
Management has stated they will be coming out to resolve all remaining issues on 08.17.2021. Will update again. We were notified right after posting reviews but only just before they commented below.

We are told it was worse prior to the buyout this year, but we’ve had nothing but issues still.

Continued follow up and no response until our ceiling finally caved in from continued water damage (ceiling caved 06.12.2021). The painter ruined the entire bathroom and used unmatched paint, painted only half of, and had to come out twice to fix.

Old Freon HVAC broke 3-4 times (Between April and June of 2021) and need a specialist to work on them so could be down for days waiting til several go out to make it worth a call.

We provided the office with a list of things to be completed after moving in, sent in less than a week of being here (April 22nd 2021.) and they came out and fixed a few things, but are being told they utterly refuse to do some of them.
Including finishing the half finished painted living room that is visibly half painted. See any patterns?

The painter is rude and says the lack of communication and scheduling is constant here.

Ceiling fan never cleaned. Was black. Mantles visible from the gallery not cleaned. Windows not cleaned.

Came out to clean the fan three months ago (as of August 2021) and still broken, dirty unable to be used

They said they couldn’t reach anything and had to RENT a ladder to fix the fan only.

Half the closet doors cannot be used. Reported not functioning and literally falling out in June 2021.

Expensive water and sewer. Me and my husband, two bedroom, over $100/mth.

Another unit had a water heater go, and took 3 hours to address and they ended up losing their entire ceiling.

Were promised new washer and dryer. Didn’t happen and apologized to that we were misinformed. 90's appliances remain for those. Hello electric bill.

Exterior looks much better, but terrible jobs with exterior and door painting.

Communication is majorly lacking all around. When the exterior painters came out, they were scaling balconies without regard or warning. Folks had to keep their patios packed up for over one month and lots had damage.

Only one trash area for the entire community.

Dog poo stations spread frequently so well to ensure people pick up after their pets.

Make sure they add you to the senders list for the amazon lockers, as amazon is pushing to use only those where possible.

We got to the point of threatening to withhold rent to get things done, never went through with it, still paid up regularly and no follow up.

We'd since followed up with the property manager directly, as of Tuesday 07.20.2021, and they responded quickly, apologized, and that they would be out to address the final 9 issues still yet to be resolved the following day, yet they’ve still not shown up at all as of 3 p.m. 07.23.2021, also with no communication regarding why.

Cannot reference the prior maintenance issues on file as they’ve deleted our maintenance history as of July 2021. Thank goodness I have photos with time stamps.

Received communication from management thanking us for our patience as several other items around the complex took precedence over us and our problems. Including rush renovating a unit below us to have an immediate move in occur. They stated on 07.27.2021 that they would get together with management to schedule with us the other items for completion - and to this day 08.09.2021 - we’ve not heard back at all.

It is quiet here. We have a large deck. They're super pet friendly, lots of people with dogs, but with no dog walking manners.

You’d think for the price, the experience would be a decent one, eh?

Just moved in, already rethinking renewal!

We are just tired of fighting and having to follow up!

The Village at Windermere is the best apartment complex in West Chester. I lived there for 3 years and honestly fell in love with the office staff and maintenance crew. They were always immediately responsive to any request I had or needed. The common areas, pool and grounds are kept in impeccable condition. Its the closet community to a home that you will find and would highly recommend to my friends and family.

We are on our 2nd year at Windermere and are still very happy with our experience here. The community is fantastic and our neighbors are amazing- we have lots of green space and open areas around the community that makes it feel like a neighborhood. The staff is always available for conversation and have been very accommodating.

We visited over 20 other apartments in the west Chester area before finding Village at Windermere. Windermere was the best hands down! When we first came we instantly felt at home thanks to the ladies in the office. They even took a picture of my dog to welcome him into the community! Ive always wanted a fireplace and our patio is a great size to sit out and enjoy the beautiful view of the trees. The units are the perfect size not too small, not too big, perfect amount of natural light with large windows. We have been here for 7 months now and we have had zero problems. The units are in great condition and the walls are solid. Wish we found this place sooner!

I moved in to the village at Windermere a couple months ago and it is everything I could have imagined and more! Everyone is so welcoming and it truly feels like a family!

I recently moved into the Village at Windermere apartments and could not be happier! From the moment we first walked into the leasing office, I got a great vibe and knew I’d love it here. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. They are responsive in emails and do their best to make sure you have everything you need! I was impressed that when something needed attention in our apartment, maintenance was able to come in right away on a Saturday! The people here have made my roommate and I feel right at home. We regularly use the gym, which has a beautiful Peloton! I can’t wait until the summer to try the pool that they’re expanding! Everything here is very nice, well-kept, and safe. I wouldn’t want to live in any other apartment!

Why do I love living at The Village at Windermere?
There are many apartment communities that surround us in this area. Living here is home. It all starts with Theresa, who has been not only a Property Manager, but "family". The ladies in the office are kind and truly care about each and every resident. I've been through the worst year of my life in 2020 and the support, compassion and overall kindness I have experienced from the staff, has been above and beyond what you would normally not expect from anyone but "family".
So, if you wish to rent an apartment in West Chester, there are many. If you wish to be a part of a family and have a home, then you've found it!
