We are so happy with our woodstove! They did a great job with installation and were communicative throughout the entire process. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a new stove.

You guys are fantastic! We do love our decorative little burning woodstove in our basement. It has really been helpful in supplementing our heat & giving us a cozy family room. Sometime we may convert to a pellet stove for ease of use. My only question is why aren’t they as attractive as the wood stoves? I don’t see any reason why they can’t look more aesthetically pleasing on a hearth. Thanks for all your great services!

They were so on top of things they even corrected a mistake made by the manufacturer! And Gary was so exact with his measurements, this guy is meticulous! And I would swear the area where he installed my stove was actually CLEANER after he left! I would 100% refer this company, they were by far the most knowledgeable out of the 5 places I interviewed for the job and I was blown away at my level of satisfaction! I love my new Hearthstone Wood stove. Dealing with Gary and Jo Ann Richardson is a pleasure. The Village Chimney Sweeps clean our chimneys every year and give good advice about safety and concerns they see.

We recently purchased a Mendota direct vent fireplace heater from Village Chimney Sweeps, York, PA. The owners, Gary and JoAnn Richardson, worked directly with us to select the best model for our home. We found they were knowledgable and quite helpful in assisting us with important decisions regarding fireplace features and proper placement in the room. Gary, who is a certified installer, did the entire project including installation of the unit, gas line connection, venting, carpentry, and drywall. He is very skilled in this specialized work. Our township required 3 project inspections and all were approved with no exceptions. We recommend this company for any fireplace or stove project.

Lead time was long for this appointment but I'm glad they are busy serving their market area cleaning, inspecting and keeping chimneys/homes/families safe.
Gary and Josh were awesome, highly educated and informed with great experience to handle my task and answer my concerns. They have all the right equipment, managed the tasks smoothly and treated my home with care.
Pictures from the inspection were emailed shortly after the visit and I was even given a trusted referral to a mason to further address my concerns.

I wanted 2 gas for converted to wood burning. I made the apt a month ago and the woman in the office said they had to inspect the chimney first for $279 then if there were no issues they could convert that day. I just bought the home and the chimneys we're inspected and cleaned so I knew there would not be an issue. I agreed to pay for inspection anyway as per their policy just so I could get them converted. They came to inspect found nothing wrong but WILL NOT CONVERT TODAY. They are telling me they never said they would do it all in one day and now I have to wait a month for them to come back and convert to wood.
The tech himself was very friendly but the office staffed flat out lied about their services and now I am out $279!
