The York Water Company reviews
9 Update: After 40+ good years my opinion has changed. The 'leadership' at this company is abysmal and I no longer trust them. Flint, Michigan 2.0
I'm 42 and have had York Water my entire life. I've never had an issue they didn't take care of quickly in that entire time. Not to mention the water is great! Wish my other bills were this inexpensive.
This company is a joke. I get a shutoff notice, yet pay them monthly and can prove it. Also back in April, I called to question my bill and was told "If I'm not sure of (2.5 times normal amount) of water usage I'm being billed for to check the meter" I asked for someone to come out to check because I can't even find it. No one did. I don't know who is running this company but asking around, I'm not the only customer with this problem. PS- I have NO leak. Called plumber to confirm. This is just sad, that greed got this far. Someday karma will find justice.
York Water has a monopoly in our community, so we are forced to use them. Sadly, we have no choice and must pay whatever price they charge us. Just this year alone, they have raised our rates TWO TIMES, bringing my monthly bill to almost $80 per month for the most abundant resource on the planet. Thanks York Water!
I emailed their customer service team 3 weeks ago asking them why my rates keep going up and I never received a response. I complained to a local legislator and was told I can file a complaint with the PUC. I'll probably do that.
I called to see why my bill was so high. They're trying to tell me that I used 7,000 gallons of water by myself in one month.
Paid early with an e-check but was charged a $10 service fee. No graciousness or anything for someone that's been paying 1-2 weeks early for years.
I just moved here a few months ago. Very rude customer service. I called to question my current outrageous bill. I wanted to inquire to see if there was a mistake or possibly a water leak. I was told that my bill was averaged for the past few months and now they did a water reading and I have to pay the overage. Once I asked for her to repeat all of that, so I could fully understand, I was met with a rude, nasty, condescending tone. I was trying to gain info on future bills (if this was common practice). Again nasty, sharp, arrogant attitude. Thank you. I guess this is my welcome to P. A!
***Update: I appreciate how quickly York Water reached out to answer my questions and resolve my issues. I am changing my one star rating to four. I thank you Savannah for being receptive and for being so helpful!
A tech from YWC came my house today to replace meter. I told him about leak and he went thru every water source in house and found the problem.very much appreciated.
This company does not want to take responsibility for their water tanks, pressure or anything. We had York come out to check pressure and it was very low, called and they argued that the pressure was reasonable. We can't even brush our teeth. Was told "the guy down the street bought a pump" Why should we have to purchase items to get the water that we are paying for. Tim told us that they can't help us because there is not enough clients out here to make it worth it. Then he even said others have left them to go back to well water! They are willing to loose customers over not fixing their product properly. We will be leaving also. What a sham of a company. Avoid this pathetic utility at all cost. Oh but he did point out that they painted the tank to look nice!
Subpar service, and parked my driveway in 4 times now. Zack Zimmerman has been notified (the head for water grounds and maintenance), it's Still a ongoing issue.
THEY NEVER CONTACTED ME LIKE THEY STATED TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE OF PARKING MY DRIVEWAY IN. THEIR RESPONSE IS A FALSE STATEMENT.
