Buying and selling with this company was the worst experience of my life. First it started with the “this is not a contract” paperwork we had to sign for them to even show us houses, but in the end it was actually a contract and we were basically forced to buy a house with them or wait 6 months. Then our original realtor moved far and we were always dealing with someone new, we dealt with 4 realtors throughout this whole process. We never got to form a rapport with any realtors, this led to many confusing moments throughout both the buying and selling processes. In the end when we finally purchased our home we received nothing more than a mediocre thank you card after purchasing over a half a million dollar home. 10/10 would not recommend.

We worked with Dorthea to buy our first home and she was amazing. As first time home buyer, she was the right person to help us in this process, we have no doubts. I noted the difference in the first meeting. She setup the criteria that we had and send the properties that fit these criteria. We are first time homebuyers that attended a home buying workshop that Dorthea hosted earlier in the year. The workshop was very informative and helpful so we ended up reaching out to Dorthea to help us find some homes both inside and outside of our city.

Dorthea was fantastic right off the bat - gave us some great tips about how to plan and organize our wants/needs, and went to work looking for homes that fit within our hopes and expectations. The communication with Dorthea was wonderful and almost always immediate - be it for questions or just checking in.

When she met us on-site at a property, she was always very knowledgeable about where we were, demographics, the market place, etc. Beyond that she let us take our time, asked thoughtful questions, and helped to guide us along as we visited properties. There was never a time where we felt any pressure! It was clear from the beginning that this was a process for us, the buyers, to carefully consider and at no point did we feel we had to make a decision based on anything other than how we felt about a property. In the end, we found a wonderful home!

The closing/settlement process was also straightforward and as easy as it could be - Dorthea met us for our final walkthrough and stayed for closing until she was able to hand us the keys. She even checked in the next day just to say congrats again.

Overall we were so thrilled to have Dorthea in our corner and would highly recommend her services to anyone looking for a new home!

Stephanie Honick was our agent and she did an amazing job for us throughout the stressful home buying process. With the current crazy real estate market, Stephanie helped us step by step (in a flow chart format!) in what to do and who to contact. She also guided us in how to adjust and stay competitive with our offers. She recommended us to a local lender (that gave us the best rate compared to the big banks) and they hired a local appraiser that knows the current market conditions, which allowed us to minimize our out of pocket costs to cover the appraisal difference in our home offer. Our showing specialist, Kendra did a great job with scheduling multiple showings on the same day on a short notice. The Silva Group also have contacts for great mortgage companies, home inspectors, movers, painters, contractors, electricians, plumbers, roofers, cleaners, real estate attorneys, and insurance companies.

I was just wired the proceeds of my home sale, so I am writing this review as a glamorous thousandaire. Getting here was not a perfectly smooth road. Selling a house is a process full of fiddly bits, annoying wrinkles and byzantine bureaucracy. The words contingent and contingency come up a lot. Problems that lived long on tomorrow's list get starred on today's. Emotion runs high. Sometimes arson starts to look like a reasonable alternative.

I am deeply thankful to have had Michael Maerten of the Silva Group by my side running point and shouldering obstacles aside at every turn. His stable of reasonably priced contractors alone probably saved me as much as his commission. He is a consummate professional, with an ability to see problems coming down the pike and forestall them before they arise. The surprises that do get past he handles calmly. Both sold and bought a home with the Silva Group. My agent was Jacki, and she was awesome - despite a tough market for condos bc of covid, got an offer quickly at a fair price. But buying is where I really saw what Jacki brought to the table as my agent. We got into a little bit of a back and forth with the seller about price and term, but Jacki reassured me not to budge since my offer was fair & at market value.
