Dismissive, condescending, arrogant, didn’t engage with my child at all, agreed that there is significant damage to her spine and a growth that shouldn’t be there but refused to go any further, told us if we don’t like it go try someone else. So a pediatric surgeons recommendation is that we take our child to someone who isn’t accustom to working on children. Absolutely disgusting encounter, do not trust your child with this man!

I hope this man stubs his toe everyday for the rest of his life and his pillow is warm on both sides and he loses all of his left shoes and all of his right socks. He is the most condescending person I've ever met. The experience my brother has had with him is the most embarrassing situation I've ever witnessed. His bedside manner especially with children and parents is absolutely awful and he should not be allowed to speak with patients.

Dr Ward does major spinal surgeries too. And we found him fabulous with my daughter. He just did a two bar 46 screws surgery to correct my daughter's 90 percent curvature in her back. He did a six hour surgery with some major risks flawlessly. Also my daughter and myself and hubs were very afraid when we found out about this curve. He immediately calmed my child down and us as well. His confidence in doing this surgery made us comfortable he explained absolutely everything to us. He's done this many times. Monitors ever part of the body. He's actually amazing. After surgery he even did a little happy dance in her room because she was doing so good. Like major risks where involved in this surgery. And he did it perfectly. I was in tears after surgery just so happy it was over and she was ok. He grabbed my hand said it all went great. This man is the best. He saved our child's life. We think he's wonderful

We had a follow-up appointment for our son's hand today. Dr. Ward came into the room and immediately asked who bandaged our son's hand (which was done in the ER at the same hospital). We rewrapped the bandage per the ER doctor's instructions for a week. Then Dr. Ward chastised us for wrapping our son's hand, stating that it did not need anything more than the fingers taped together. His entire tone of voice and attitude was of disgust and impatience. We explained we were just following the instructions of the doctor in the ER. He became very confrontational and stated, "They always do that, they are not specialists. " He then proceeded to tell us in the same disgusted tone that our son's fracture was not serious and could barely even be seen on the x-ray. The whole experience, which lasted a mere 10 minutes at most, left us with impression that we were wasting his time. He, very well, may be a competent doctor, but his bedside manner is atrocious.

Horrendous. What a wretched, awful man. Dr. Ward missed his calling - he is far better suited to work in the prison system than with vulnerable young children. He was condescending to me, the parent, and uncaring and nearly abusive to my child. Why Children's Hospital would employ such a vile creature is beyond me.

I went to this doctor when I was pregnant and found out my child had a birth defect. My specialist scheduled an appointment with him and when I went there I was my mother because my husband could not make that appointment. I was crying advising him what was going on and he told me to stop crying and asked me if I wanted an abortion. I said no and came there to find out what our options would be when she was born. The worst experience I ever had with a doctor. He should not be allowed to practice based in his communication with parents. He makes you feel like nothing. After all the years have past. I will never forget my horrible experience with him. FYI, my daughter is thriving with a prosthetic and couldn’t be more proud of her!

I don't believe I've ever felt so condescended and unheard. He tried to explain to me that "physical therapy and talk therapy are different things" as if I was clueless, despite me explaining how I've been in and out of PT 3 times and I currently receive counseling services. But, at least I know this man's entire resume and 5 fun-fact statistics irrelevant to my visit. Thanks, Dr. Ward!

Update: After going elsewhere, a doctor was able to identify severe ligament damage, dehydrated intervertebral discs, and a curvature in my lower spine after being shown the same MRI as Dr. Ward. Treatment—not cognitive behavioral therapy—is going well!

Dr. Ward performed spinal fusion scoliosis surgery on my 10 year old daughter. I highly recommend him. He is very straight to the point but also very good.
