Tobyhanna State Park reviews
11 Great spot to hangout during fall. Randomly came across this while going to Lake Wallenpaupack but found this more beautiful.
It has New Hampshire vibes during fall. October 2nd week!
Tobyhanna is a great place to go to. It’s my go-to state park by me. The only reason I am now giving it 4 starts instead of 5 is because despite the fact that I know it would be wildlife, it creeped me tf out seeing two bears just so close to the lake and along the trail. I was feet away and obviously the TWO black bears were minding their “bear business” but it’s the fact for me! Just saying! I have a two year old that I like to take with me in his jogging stroller, so idk just be on the look out and keep your distance if you see one. That was once out of the many times though so it’s awesome. A little scary with young children but a great park regardless! It was their home first so it’s a chance you just may see them!
Peaceful, serene, very easy pull-off. Paddle-Boat and canoe rentals. Hiking path around lake. Safe. Bathrooms. Free admission.
Nice park with a walking trail around the lake. There is a boat rental shold with canoes kayaks and some electric boots as well as some nice camping grounds. Some areas of the park used to be on artillery range for the Army it's over is possibility of finding non detonated ordinance so be cautious off of trails in those areas. There is a nice little swimming beach as well.
Absolutely love the lake! We come to the beach in the summer, the water is soo warm (keep in mind its a natural lake so there are weeds), there's bathrooms and changing rooms, playground, and BBQ tables. The lake also has boat rentals, great for fishing. On the fall, hiking is fantastic. In a winter, people play hockey on ice!
Was very beautiful and peaceful here. Went on The 4th if july and there was alot of people there, but even with the amount of people there was still peace and all the kids had a great time in the playground and in the the lake, Rest of the family went fishing. Lots of people brought their dogs and they were all friendly. The water gets u pretty dirty but they do have showers to rinseyourselff off. The bathrooms werent horrible either. Overall great place to take the family.
The perfect place to spend with family and friends, everything very clean and pleasant, I love it
I will definitely return
Nice big long loops to walk. Gorgeous lake. Cool spots for seeing rushing water. Popular spot for locals and tourists. Moderate to easy trail difficulty. Mostly flat.
Took the blue trail around the lake in the snow. During the season there isn't a lot of scenery to look at but it's a peaceful walk.
Beautiful park with a lovely hiking trail surrounding it. Check the park office for a map. There are plenty of campgrounds also
A nice park. And a nice place to fish. The location isn't great. And is kind of busy most of the time.
